Accrington have a very good home record, we'll do well to get anything out of this. It won't be pretty that's for sure, but then again it never is. Last season's corresponding fixture was possibly the worst game of football I've ever seen, but we won't have Chuks this time to come off the bench to rescue a late point. Good luck to the travelling faithful, they deserve something to celebrate., even another 0-0.

0-1, Stockley, from a soft penalty. Who cares.

Don't know who the summariser is, but he's not a patch on Brownie. Sandgaard out.

Stanley haven't read the script. This is supposed to be where we start winning games.

Can we do anything against 10 men? Don't hold your breath.

One point from 7 games, and we're still 7 points off the drop somehow. Another goal conceded from a set piece, and another one from a player being given the freedom to cut inside and pick his spot.

There are so many awful teams below us that Charlton could end this season on 43 or 44 points and still not be relegated, by default.

Going by average targets for survival over the past 14 seasons, Charlton are just 2 points above the theoretical drop zone rather than 7.

No goals from open play in five games.
One clean sheet in God knows how long.
Unable to score even an equaliser against 10 men.

    Abysmal.

Brownie and Curbs were pretty scathing.

I'm still not writing off a better medium term future for our Club in general terms, with things going on behind the scenes which will only show progress over some time.

But it must be clear to even the pathologically optimistic Mr Sandgaard that on the pitch, Charlton Athletic have badly lost their way.
This is not a short term slump in form.
Yes, injuries have played a part. But only in exposing how chronically weak our squad is.

Perhaps a really experienced Gaffer with great man-managing skills might get more out of them than JJ can.
But - let's be honest - not a whole lot more.
Certainly not enough more to get anywhere near the top six and then wage a successful play-off campaign.

As Rodney Marsh might have put it ... You can stick a fork in this Charlton Athletic squad. They are done.

TS, please employ experienced, savvy league football people to put right the serious problems in the Squad.
And provide (or find) the money to rebuild it.
Otherwise you'll never be able to attract quality investment.
We have to show some potential in order to attract that money.

This is turning into the worst season in my experience. Going to The Valley on Tuesday seems like an exercise in masochism.

It would appear that the players have given up.

    Shame on them.

I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt when they failed Nigel Adkins.
But now - after a great run of spirited displays while JJ was caretaker manger - they have pussied out again.
And this time they have let down a man who loves Charlton. A man who is so hugely respected that the fans will not turn on him.

Our players should be ashamed of themselves.
