After the glorious 23rd I am trying to remember when we've ever had an atmosphere like that before at loftus road and to be quite honest I don't know if I can.<confused>

Two that spring to mind for me were Oldham play off semi and Palace FA cup 1/4 final.

    Anybody think of any more?

i been going since 1958 and cant remember an atmosphere like that.
maybe when we beat man utd 3-1 on new years day in 1970 something with 30000 packed into Loftus Road
or beat Arsenal in the cup game when Tony Adams was showered with carrots in the rain..
but i dont think they compare..
anyone who was there sunday will remember that day for the rest of their lives..
    it was very special..
    thank you god!

Agreed Rebel, I've waited so long for that moment.
It's all too easy to be an armchair fan nowadays.
    You can't beat being there.

I shall remember the looks on the scums faces as they realised they were going to get it up 'em.
The disbelief when they realised they had stepped into the cauldron of hate.
That 15,000 Rs fans could be so intimidating.
From start to finish it was shear unadulterated hatred breathing down their necks at such close quarters.

The realisation that we would never ever give up, That we didn't care for their pampered showbiz lifestyles,
The fact that our heroes on this fine day would not back down to their 'in your face do you know who I am pomposity.'
That the Rs fans didn't give a **** either.
We really gave it to them big style.
    They hated it.
Drogba got himself sent-off on purpose, he really didn't fancy having to put
a shift in against us on his own.
    They couldn't handle it.
    It was brilliant.

They under-estimated us, thank god that they did.
They have never experienced anything like it.
Forget Stoke, or any other team for that matter.
There is no other Stadium that is capable of creating such an Istanbulesque cauldron of hatred in this country.
    Long may it continue.

I was there on Sunday, and your right.
I shall never forget it until my dieing day!

i don't think it gets much more inhospithable as that. I had a spare ST as my usual buddy is in Australia, so took a palace supporting friend (got stuck in with the chanting) and he commented that he thought the atmosphere was fantastic and that it didn't get much better than that.

We have often been ridiculed down the years for not offering much vocal support for the team. TBH there is some truth in that and while we have always been a noisy bunch away it is rare that we get behind the team in the same way at home. We all know the feeling when 'Come on you Rrrrs' fades out halfway through the 2nd go round. Sunday was fantastic of course and in 45 years going to LR I don't think I have ever seen a team so intimidated by the noise and agression as were the Scum. The difference was that the vocal support poured down from every part of the ground and not just R block has been the case for many years. Now, just how do we go about keeping that up and truly becoming the 12th man that the likes of Stoke enjoy?

Great atmos first half; faded a bit as Rangers fans got nervous in the second.

Always noisy at Loftus when the Chelsea boys come to town.

Oldham WAS the benchmark for me - until Sunday. SO much noise, fervour, passion and raw aggression. Chelsea were partly beaten by the 12th man!

Incidentally, the more I think about AVB's comments after the match, the more irritated I am. He spoke as though they should get special consideration becasue they are title contenders. You got beat, AVB, live with it!

Exactly my thoughts too. AVB came across as a pathetic cry baby who expected everybody to bow down to his wonderful football team!

Cardiff last season was good when we beat them 2-1. That still didnt compare to Oldham. In my opinion last Sundays game was better then Oldham. It made a massive difference to both our team and the scums team and certainly had a massive bearing on us winning the game.

You boys were noisy first half; second half we were noisy.

From away fan view in 96,we went 2 up in the Cup game just before halftime; we had a lot of fans in the Ellersie and took the roof off during intermission.

Great day out Sunday, you deserved points. Terry probably did abuse ferdy.

Hope you stay up so it becomes regular fixture; it was a belting local derby.

Good luck with the rest of your season

Fair enough Hammersmithblue, although you do like to bang on about taking over the Ellerslie!! Didn't see one Chelsea fan in there on Sunday by the way! You're right though, we did get very nervous in the 2nd half! The team did too, turning from red-hot underdogs to red-hot favourites.

Blue, as before, we have credited your 9 man team with a magnificient performance in the last 30mins. Credit where credit is due. We were quieter cos we could see you scoring any minute!!

Well, we weren't better 11 v 11; and were indisciplined so we went down to 9 men. That's our fault; no one else's.

Re Terry; I've met his horrible family, seen his mum lifting her skirt for every bloke going in Germany 06; we all know what Terry's like: he's scum. But he's our captain and leader and a very good captain; probably the best in England.

He probably dishes out racist stuff on a daily basis to Malouda and Anelka in training; you lazy French xxxts; Africa jokes to Essien etc; Nazi jokes to ballack etc

He is a very good leader so JM even Capello etc let him get away with being jack-the-lad.
