I know this is a potential bananaskin Crewe having lost 9 out of their last 10 games. we are experts at ending teams losing runs. HOWEVER, having said that Im confident of a 3-0 victory.

I like the set up that RTB has proposed and am looking forward to Broadhead (if playing) help set up Defoe and Stewart with a few goals

Need to start well and start fast tomorrow. None of the ****e we saw on Tuesday with 3 or 4 mis-paced passed in the first minute. Get on it and get at them, Get the game put to bed by half time like we did against Wycombe, Wigan and Plymouth

The first half was as bad as you could imagine, even Neil said that. I would go as far as say they will never be that bad again. I expect a reaction to the performance (which I suspect has been subtracted from the result by now <laugh>).

I think we will win comfortably. Interesting to see Artell bemoaning his sides inability to defend crosses. One of the things Neil has tried to do is bypass the middle part of the pitch and get high and wide early. Once there he wants balls into the box. It is the same as Johnson did when he got here, albeit he was prepared to be more patient to get to that position of being able to put an effective cross in. Neil is a lot more direct but has the same ambition. Against Crewe it should be a case of put enough crosses in and the weight of pressure will tell. Hopefully though we start loving the middle part of the pitch as well, and finding some of them delightful through balls, come on down Dan Neil.

It's a huge error to start the game with passing the ball across the back line.

It quietens the crowd and, as Tuesday demonstrated, makes the defence jumpy which leads to errors.

Get the bucking fall straight up the pucking fitch and get a few shucking fots on goal ...

... that'll get the crowd up, give us confidence and confuse the opposition.

We can settle back into a proper shape after that but it, at least, sets the tone.

Hopefully AN will pick the right team, the right formation & the right tactics. If he does 6-0.

    Cracking thread again. Cheers RTB

As per Smug & Cumbrian’s team tinkering, I’d have broadhead alongside Stewart up top, and Gooch in his place.

That should be plenty to get three points and boost our GD. Embo needs a kick up the arse.

Well 9 games to go and 8 more chances after this 7-1 thrashing of a totally crap team. Surely we go all out from the kick off with an attack minded team. Press them a couple of early mistakes and 3-0 minimum by HT.
Relaxed 2nd half and playing the way we should be all of the time. Broadhead hat trick, Ross hat trick and an OG.
Obviously I hope I am wrong and we hit double figures<laugh>.

Once again RTB a magnificent OT and thank you for your superb effort week in week out.

For the first time in living memory we are going to annihilate a bottom team who are on a losing streak. No mercy , let’s be calling our own team cruel by 4:50

Great thread RTB. Thank you again.
I actually don't know what our best team would be, but I do like the idea of o'9 and Matete there together.

I predict a miserly 2-0 (Stewart and Someone else)

Great chance for the team to put in a performance that gives us all hope. Lets get the ball down and play these buggers into next year. We have technicians on the ball that should make the opposition feel dizzy, lets do it! I want 70% possession and a minimum 4 goal win. Statement time for the lads, nowt like a smash up win for momentum.
