It's ok for people that can afford it but many people are going to struggle with all the other price rises.

Anyone that thinks picking one cheek over another when they're both on the same arse will make a difference, really demonstrate that they haven't got a ****ing clue how government and politics work. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

They're going to get far worse as the net zero measures come in. Conservative estimates so far are upwards of half a billion pounds for every single one of the 343 Local Authorities in the UK. That's all got to be found on top of the cost of war, covid etc.

Living standards for the poorest quartile of society rose for some reason under Blair then fell sharply since Labour lost power. Could be a coincidence.

I was actually due to go back there at the start of March, but I decided to wait a while. It's a fascinating place. I'm glad I took the opportunity to go before all of this.

I actually support the basic principles of using resources wisely and looking after the planet, who wouldn't? But the initial issues have been through a meat grinder before they reach people who have to decide which measures to move forward. Now,if you mention 'Climate' the decision makers are fearful of not backing it, even though you have to dig a long way down the data to find the true version of events or someone that actually knows what they're on about. Most of the measures proposed will simply change one problem in to another, and it all starts again.

The Earth's climate has always been cyclical but the Woke tree huggers won't engage in conversation about it because they are thick as ****.

Cyclical long before fossil fuel extraction.

The knowledge of the processes has improved over recent years, but there are still a lot of assumptions that need to be included, and to date, most if not all of the earlier predictions have turned out to be less accurate than the covid models.

You can actually view the historic met data, but for maximums rather than averages for some reason. You'd also need to consider that equipment has been changed, and sites have moved or the surroundings altered, all of which will affect the data.

The measurement of sea level is quite an interesting one to dig in to, as obviously tides vary, but also the land rises and falls too, which all add to the fun.
