2-0 sounds right......<cough> Dubs Manq - Schar - Burn - Targett Bruno - Shelvey - Willock Joelinton - Wood - Fraser
I almost want to swap Shelvey and Jobocop so Shelvey can just ping in more of those crosses to Wood similar to last night. Of course we'd be screwed defensively down that side, just have to score more than them. Impenetrable middle of the park with Joe, Joe & Bruno
Nah, hear me out - watching last night, live, the pressing happens everywhere. One of the key problems was Willock having to press because Murphy was too far wide and not working hard enough. If you have Joe up there as well, plus dropping to feed off Manq, it would absolutely work. Howe has said Joe is still primarily an attacker, he just has an overall awareness and intelligence that means he can play anywhere - he just happens to be a £40m footballer, not a £40m striker!! If you have Willock running and Joe pressing, covering, it'll be fantastic. To be fair, I was repeatedly saying 3 in CM is the problem - since that, look what we've done? Now I'm telling you until ASM is available get big Joe in that RWF role and we will do Chelsea.
3 CM's are perfect for what we have now. The only problem is a selection headache, but only while Bruno is getting used to the pace of the league, when he does get used to it, he'll take Shelvey's spot most likely.
Yes, I know. Technically Eddie just copied from this forum. Keep 3 in CM, put Joe right wing. Yes, Shelvey will eventually drop, but so will most of them in time.
That wont happen. Hopefully ASM will be back. I think we may just have to accept sacrificing one of our CM's and just accept the selection headache. We don't need Joelinton, Shelvey, Willock and Bruno all to be playing, as proven against Southampton where we won without Joelinton. If ASM is back, I'd play him in murphy's place. Joelinton or Bruno can play.
He does things that no others can. I'd have max over Murphy any day. Over the course of the season he's our most productive player with like 5 goals and 6 assists. Max is useless defensively, but think of the games where we posed barely any threat to the opposition and he scored a wonder goal and rescued a result. Other players ego's have been managed by Howe and reformed. ASM deserves more of a chance than anyone because he was at least being effective to a greater degree than others in the first half of our season.
Disagree, Max is an attraction other players I think. Same with Bruno, Trippier & now Joelinton. You need to keep that excitement and flair in the team. The better players around ASM I suspect the more team focused he will be
I understand people would disagree I just think longterm you need team players and he just isn't one sadly. I suppose we don't need to sell and having him gives us something different when called upon.
Maybe give him a chance now we have had a run of results and with Eddie developing a team team spirit. I think previously Maxi has felt the need to do everything himself as he's had no confidence in the team around him. So he goes it alone. As we develop the game to be more about possession, high pressing and creating chances, he'll either totally thrive, or we'll see that he's not suitable for the way Eddie itends to play. But he deserves an opportunity to show which it is. Eddie seems to have a good philosophy on man management. He was talking about how they sit down with each player to go through videos of them and discuss their thoughts on in-match decision making to see if they might improve or try something different next time. No doubt with Maxi that will involve scenarios where he could have released the ball sooner to bring others in. He'll either improve his overall game with that type of coaching style, or will demonstrate he's just naturally a one man band. But I'd like him to have the chance to develop under Eddie if he can.
Dubz Manq-Schar-Burn-Targett Willock-Bruno-Joelinton Murphy-Wood-Fraser For me, although if Krafth is fit he will play. Wouldn't drop Murphy at present but get the feeling this could be the game that Eddie rings the changes as this is a free throw game and we could rest a few with something like: Dubz Manq-Lacselles-Burn-Targett Longstaff-Bruno-Joelinton Murphy-Wood-Almiron Krafth looked like he'd given everything by the end of the game, Willock and Fraser also. Schar seemed to have an issue with his groin so could be rested. Shelvey bar his assist was fairly passenger and gave the ball away a few times so could see Longstaff coming in as well, Shelvey will play if Joelinton isn't fit to start.
I think both Schar and Krafth will play if fit as keeping a stable defense is really important in my eyes. You get used to playing with each other, pushing up together, knowing when your mate is there to cover. As for everyone else, I would expect a few changes to give legs a rest ahead of Everton
He hates Newcastle. "All it would take is two or three defeats and Newcastle would be right in trouble. LOL because everyone below is gonna win 2-3 times in that time period.
I know what you mean, these people that keep predicting we will lose week after week after week after week. Vile the lot of them
