Forgot to mention one of the highlights; Armstrong coming on and standing beside Dan Burn. Was like a parent had brought their kid on to the field.
I wasn’t aware of that, and in which case I apologise for the joke. We had a similar thing with the West Ham lot ragging our player, Will Smallbone for his haircut, when he actually has alopecia. I mean, if you’re going to rag someone called Will Smallbone, I’d suggest there’s easier ways…
Your not alone, most fans will pick what they think is an easy target without realising the facts. Its like being a kid where first looks count. Ginger kids, fat kids, spotty kids, speccy kids - they all get it simply on looks which is unfair. Apart from Ginger kids - They're just pure evil.
Aaaahhhhhhhh …. Bugger [changes subject] 31 points and it’s sunny! New Rich v Old Rich on Sunday. Cans.
Wow is that embarrassing, or is that embarrassing. EDIT: I see Trev beat me to saying that. Now is that embarrassing or is that embarrassing.
@Roland Deschain How fantastic was big Woodie again? Ran himself into the ground and scored a corking header. I never saw Howe getting us this well organised mind. We are so slick defensively. That's twice in a row we've been largely outplayed and ground out results by simply doing the right thing at the right time at the back. Schar and Burn were excellent again. Targett deserves a mention too, so many important toes in to nick the ball away. Bruno struggled a little at times, but you can see he has plenty of class. Great team effort while not at our very best. When you think we have the likes of ASM, Wilson, Trippier and Big Joe to come back in, things are looking up. I think we should aim for top 10 now. Ambitious but why not, we are on a roll.
I'm more than happy to eat my words; he was really exceptional. Even more impressive when you consider he could be down for having not scored, off the back of two much poorer performances, but he just rolled his sleeves up, dusted himself down and got on with it (one for those missing Bruce). £25m is too much, but wtf do I care, not my money and since coming in we've played 8, w6, d2, l0. Howe loves the bloke and, watching him live, I get it. Very impressive. Must be so fit, he just never stopped and at the end was winning headers with ease as his markers were just tired of jumping with him. Willock as well, he just ran all night. Another mention, though, that Murphy - as you've said repeatedly - is awful. Just way, way out of his depth. Doesn't understand anything, really basic Champ level footballer; literally stands on the sideline which helps no-one. Walker-Peters tore him a new one, and he's not even that good. The night was about the team, though. For all the fancy transfers that do the rounds, there's something deeply satisfying about Matt Targett and Dan Burn doing such solid jobs. Both should be England considerations, they're better than Shaw/Maguire by a country mile.
Top man I won't defend Murphy I think he's ****e. What I will say though is I think Eddie probably likes how hard he works. He's a grafter. He seems popular among the players too. If you could take his best attribute and inject it into ASM, you'd have some player. That's as nice as I can be about him though because some of his stuff with the actual ball is League One
I can see why Eddie kept Bruno on the bench for a few weeks, certainly looked a little off the pace and needs time to adjust to the league. That being said, he also clearly has a touch of proper talent, when he's up to pace he will be a top player. Exciting ****ing times ahead.
