I do think we can't afford to be too complacent over this in assuming the setup differences would save us if the UK ever fell out with Saudi Arabia. Chelsea aren't owned by Putin.
Yes, I think in the same situation the Reuben Brothers could certainly afford to buy out the other 80% if the need ever arose. Whether they would be willing to would be another matter, but owning 10% of nothing can't be an attractive proposition if they don't.
Just woke up to this glorious news. One of the cartel six staring down the barrel of a **** storm. Glorious. Add to this Manure imploding, Spurs being Spurs and Arsenal not setting the world alight and it’s a good time to be alive. It’s a great time to play Chelsea… their players won’t know if they are going to get paid and will all have an eye on the Summer exit door…..
To be fair, the Russians need a small amount of thanks. No-one's noticed that Covid ****ed off the minute Putin invaded.
I see that they are only allowed to spend a total of £20,000 for the remainder of the season on travel costs - That's got to be the players driving themselves to games then. Price fuel is going up by that should get the coach from about pump 1 to pump 2 on the garage forecourt
I didn't even mean it in those terms, I meant that it being a consortium, that involves British businessmen muddies the water and gives us a bit of a bargaining chip. Btw I think there's a very high chance that the Reubens will purchase Staveley's 10% in the future. Especially since they reportedly gave her a big chunk of cash for her to buy that 10%, they basically own it.
The PL should have said on the day Roman was kicked out "right, you can't own a club if you can't even get into the country it resides in, time to find a new owner". Too concerned about the threat of a Saudi backed Newcastle to do what they're supposed to do. ****ing assholes, the lot of 'em. They're all getting what's coming, karma is a bitch.
All said was it was different for Newcastle as Chelsea owner was supporting a country bombing civilians in a neighbouring country.
No they invaded a country. And if you want to get all pissy about Yemen. Go read up on why that little chestnut started and tell me what was different to the Brits V Iraq/Afghan/Ireland.
Not sure what you are getting at here, as I am assuming you think exactly the same of one of our owners which would be true. Unless you are just assuming that we don't think the PIF supports the Saudi government?
Yemen. The Houthi's overthrew the democratically elected Government of Sa'Naa. Backed by the Iranians no less. Democracy was stolen. It is not an invasion. Half of my family are Yemeni descendants and tell of family there seeing civilians murdered on the streets by the Houthi's. People need to stop believing the media.
