How long can the war last? Russia's economy plummeting. Ukraine can't hold out forever without food under siege. Someone will have to blink.

I could obviously be wrong, but the war will most likely be over by summer. How long will sanctions against Chelsea last once the war is over? And if it isn't, how long until UK sells Chelsea and sanctions against them removed?


End of endless bankrolling for Chelsea but they won't be in lockdown still at the start of next season.

I dont think it really matters in the long run, as you say they are government owned now so they will be sold and the odd are good that they will then have to operate like a normal club living within its means so no more buying players they dont need so rivals dont get them. And no more billion pound hand outs that get written off by bank of roman.

Still a lack of answers for me, and people understanding what a sanction means.

My understanding is that once a sanction is applied, there is no difffering rules for one sanctioned person against another, and it includes everything financial, in simple terms, no money can transfer in or out of a bank account linked to the sanctioned person(s).

If I'm wrong I'm open to their knowledge.

I'm wondering if there is a lack of knowledge on Dorries part around all this. So Chelsea have a special licence, that's like saying to me, the museum can open, but no new fee's can be taken for any visiting customers to come see the dinosaurs on display.

In short Chelsea Football Club is now a museum frozen in time. There is nothing else to explain, you can't sell what belongs to the National Trust.

If I'm a businessman, does anyone seriously think I'm going to pay the asking price for football club in receivership, of course I'm not, a sanctioned club aint any different 1.5B - 3B, I'm just pissing myself laughing.

 

I can't even begin to think how you value Chelsea at the moment. Obvs there's no sale whilst Abramovich is sanctioned, and in that time they are losing sponsors, gate receipts, merchandise and other commercial income. Then they look set to lose player assets, potentially miss out on the champions league next year and generally suffer being tarnished by being crippled due to their owner having links to Putin.

I reckon the lads on not606 should have a root around down the back of the sofa and see if we can have a whip round to buy it.

 

Oh yeh thats pretty obvious now the sanctions are there, that 3billion price tag had to plummet.
