if i spent a couple of billion on a club while i would welcome fan input I would not agree to anything that limited my ability to sell my own property whenever i wanted .
It happened! "Chelsea among Abramovich assets frozen by UK government" they cannot now be sold. from BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/60688168 Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich sanctioned by UK government Premier League club frozen as part of action; proposed sale halted for time being Chelsea club shop must close, no more match tickets can be sold Fans who bought season tickets or individual match tickets before today can attend games. Club can fulfil fixtures and pay wages of all employees, including players and coaching staff. They can pay "reasonable" costs of travel to and from fixtures but not exceeding £20,000 per game per team (they'll be on a bus in Europe!). Pay "reasonable" costs towards hosting home fixtures, not exceeding £500,000 per fixture per team. Broadcasters can broadcast any fixture involving the club. No transfers this summer if this goes on. No means to sell the club unless the UK government pocket the proceeds. This is the REALITY of abramovich's disgusting use of ukraine refugees to buy time to get this sale done. He knoew full well the club was toast the second this came down and wanted to harvest the proceeds or protect the asset under the guise of the trust crap. Now its toast.
i presume they will NOT be able to do new contracts or pay agents/signing on fees either so Azpi and rudiger are now gone as is christensen.
There's plenty of time between now and the end of the season for the rules to change. Those three were likely gone anyway though.
this war will not be over in 6 weeks. we are looking at crap freeing weather then mud and dirt and horrid conditions and funnel convoys up just roads and then we are into starvation tacts etc. its only going to get worse. The uk government now in effect own chelski and should dispose of the asset. Another glazier style deal please. let the money be taken out of the club the sad thing is the day they are sold they are debt free gain so get to start from scratch. however they cannot afford their lifestyle now so something has to give in fees and wages and all the other under the counter stuff going about. best thing we could see is a yank buying is and floating it on the yank stock market as that in effect ends any shady shady stuff that the dopers can do.
Wouldn’t want any club to go bust. Don’t mind if chelsea are sold to someone who manages them like a proper football club. If they have to actually start spending money in same way 99% of other clubs do then fine by me.
in 2010 we were protected.. cant bleat about wanting them busted as a result imo. this is about converting a small London club who are a prime financial doper into a sustainable entity. Right now in theory they are smaller than spurs. take the doping away and they simply cannot sustain a budget higher than spurs or arsenal going forward. we have to see that koenke and ENIC are two of the richest owners in the prem. the glaziers net worth is less than them bar of course the vlaue of utd. these clubs do not dope financially. If an American owner gets their clutches on another prem asset then they are unlikely to dope either. We will be getting bloody close to being the NFL though and thats a concern. Chelsea have long since made up crap about finances and have admitted they are utterly reliant on the trust where RA just waves a wand and debt vanishes. Now at least they will be forced to live as a normal spoiled rotten rich club like the rest of us. IMo in 10 years time city will still be doping at the top, man utd will still be wasting masses of money and the rest are a hodge podge of rising and falling through their efforts to build teams and be consistent. We are no different.
Good old UK summers. I reckon the government will be looking to sell them quickly, i.e. before the end of the season. Then they have time to sort contracts out. Tbh the Club will be sold to other rich people who may put more or less in than Abramovich. They might not dope like they did before but I imagine they'll still be a big club. Apparently three are reviewing their sponsorship.
Again this seems crazy How can three review their sponsorship - they knew what they were getting into All seems harsh to me
"We didn't realise the owner Was a reclusive Oligarch who made his fortune in corrupt deals and has close ties to the Kremlin." Yeah, it's just PR rubbish.
