Chelsea cannot sell any merchandise, they cannot sell any tickets for home games - they can only allow attendance of tickets already sold. They can pay players, they can play tv games up until May 31st for now. Freeze on transfers and new contracts. The special licence for Chelsea to play, can be removed by the British Government at anytime.
So hang on, let me check I've got this right... If Chelsea cannot sell any merchandise, cannot sell any tickets for home games and cannot get players to sign for them, does that mean the punishment for war crimes is to be sent back to 1985??
Anyone know how this effects the 700 odd players they have out on loan? Send em all back to Chelsea? Not heard anything about the army of chav loanees around Europe
booooooooh does this mean it could be back to normal for them and Roman anytime in the near future? I think the gangster is done for good on these shores and anyone considering buying them will have to consider the dirty stench the purchase will leave on their reputation
I'm still not convinced and I'm probably totally wrong, but it's nowt more than a personal opinion, that Chelsea can even be sold. Maybe a Chelsea fan can respond by telling me how the sale can legally take place, because I'm just not seeing it. For me, they are well and truly fooked.
I've just seen this quote in the i...I know nowt about this paper, but anyway it says... In sanctioning Abramovich, 55, the Government said that he “has been involved in destabilising Ukraine and undermined and threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine”. Chelsea, this is the worst possible thing to be said if true. Edit: I want to correct this, because I think the paper has misquoted, I believe it means his association with a person that has...
Under this, they can’t. The lawyers controlling the sale had set a deadline of next Tuesday for bids, this ruling ends that, as he can’t liquidate the asset, as it’s essentially been frozen. What’s ludicrous is the conditions they’ve imposed e.g. ticket / merchandising sales, as they’ve classed those as him generating personal income, when in reality it’s merely generating business turnover, that without, will merely rack up losses, who’s paying them? The Govt? As Chelsea is now effectively Govt owned.
Yup, I was thinking they are now government owned but I guess that will be in name only. I did think that it would freeze everything the club did in time, including merchandise, as a sanctioned person, anything or anybody attached to him is also sanctioned of sorts. I imagine it like a family tree, they start at the top and work their way down. Also any offshoots. I'm wondering how it affects food and drink sales, because I think a lot of clubs have caterering contracts, that are paid up front (I think), so the sales go to the caterer, but I could be wrong, maybe someone understands this aspect better than me.
