Nothing about our beloved John Burcow in here? Unless I've missed it.

There was me thinking this was the Politics thread <whistle>

You may have missed it but there are bigger things going on. Substantially bigger

Hence why all the party stuff has also gone quiet even among the most outspoken of Boris critics

Now whether the timing of the report on Bercow was deliberate is anyone’s guess. Not sure who would be interested in protecting him now as he is no longer relevant

So it falls quite far down most people’s lists. Most just don’t have the mental bandwidth.

Even yours it would seem since you haven’t actually made any points about it and your only post is this very weird one. Do you have something to say?

If Bercow is guilty of bullying then he deserves to be banned from Parliament, as does Priti Patel who was also found guilty of bullying but is still Home Secretary.

If you have something to say re Burcow go ahead I'm sure your comments would be given all due respect. Jonathan Pie's tweet posted by Chilcs an excellent response.

Bercow is an unpleasant arsehole, but then he's also now largely irrelevant.

Totally agree, but a that wasnt my point, in so much as the imbalance on here at times. I was just surprised not to see it mentioned, yet there are often quips about the Tories. Just trying to offer up some balance :emoticon-0148-yes:

And yes, as Greg says, not high on people's agenda, but hasnt stopped some people posting other musings.

I could be misremembering or mentally filtering out some of the many posts in this thread but lots of the quips about the tories over the last few weeks have been linked to their links with Russia and their actions over the people fleeing Ukraine. So in line with the general theme of what is going on

Then there is the fact that they are in power so should naturally be subject to more scrutiny. Indeed some of the whataboutism from the mainstream press with regards to parties out of government is both insane and appalling. Not saying they shouldn’t be scrutinised at all but some balance is needed and isn’t there. Key example being starmer pictured having dinner whilst working as an absolutely absurd attempt at “whataboutism”

Bercow isn’t even relevant anymore. He was a Tory so I guess if you are saying why aren’t people quipping about him because of that? For the same reason no one is quipping about Ann Widecombe , Ken Clarke, David Blunkett, Jack Straw and the like. Ex prime ministers are always subject to comments but most people just fade without a trace.

Experts have said there shouldn't be any release of radiation outside of the buildings.

Sorry Greg, I thought people are free to post what they want to in here - after all, it is the Politics thread. I certainly didnt post it to argue with you.

Perhaps it could help you if you can accept not everyone posts something with explicit meaning or wanting a debate - I may be wrong but I do wonder if you have an issue if I post some things, particularly on here. Sometime folk just post musings.

I mean, of course there are bigger things going on just now, but there are also other things happening in the world. If this is an issue for you, you could start a Ukraine conflict thread...

Then again, I dont recall seeing you direct this type of response to Badger and others quipping about the Government in the past 2 weeks. I must have missed that!

I responded to your last sentence just now to Chilco.

Hope the rest of your day gets better :emoticon-0148-yes:

You may be correct, but they arent particularly helpful - some are just piss taking and point scoring.

I posted something about Politics in the Politics thread, apologies, I won't do that on your instruction again :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Anyhow, cant be arsed to get into something with you again, you are too passive aggressive for me today!

Billy - your histrionics can be quite tiresome

As others have said - you basically came in an implied there was something to say but chose not to say anything. You clearly had a point to make. No doubt you feel you have made it via the responses to your indirect comment.

No one is telling you what you can or can’t post. And no one is requiring permission to post. It is really quite a baffling set of conclusions to reach. Do you have enough straw for all the men you are building with it?

I just thought I would point out why the jabs against the government both existed in the first place and are completely unremarkable in the context of what has been going on. It seems to have flown completely over your head anyway so I now realise I needn’t have bothered

If there have been jabs against the government due to the parties since this invasion had started your position might be more reasonable. But there hasn’t. Or at least not that I have noticed / at a noticeable volume. And my other point was that even if their was jabs against those that are in power and who are still relevant are pretty par for the course. Jabs against someone who is no longer relevant and never will be again - not exactly the same thing. But I am repeating myself now

The most hilarious thing is your projection. You kicked things off with a passive aggressive post, got called out on it (by more than one person) and are now saying I am the passive aggressive one. Truly mind boggling. Straight out of a propaganda playbook

Is it overly paranoid of me to focus on the “outside” in that sentence ?

Histrionics <laugh> **** me what a saying about all this...

Ok Greg, if that makes you feel better...but you for sure take things way over the top. Relax a little, you may enjoy life more...

There is for sure an imbalance on here, I posted about said imbalance. That really is the tall and short of it.

It is funny how it is generally those leaning left that take issue with what I posted, which in reality was such a small thing that YOU chose to take further.

What I wrote was tongue in cheek. Take your head out of your arse for a second Greg, not everything needs to be so heavy. And no one is 'calling me out' over this - wtf do you think this forum is - you are well weird at times. I mean what propaganda playbook, serious, relax, you really are over thinking all this.

And it was people like you that usually mean i dont bother with this forum, just a serious lack of equilibrium on here.

Have you tried saying Goosfraba yet - may help someone like you :emoticon-0148-yes:

Anyhow, im not going to respond anymore Greg, I honestly cant be arsed with your personality, suggest you do the same.

I enjoyed Bercy getting up Johnson's nose more than once but he's now getting the deserved criticism and censure that others Patel in particular ducked.

Radio 4 PM interviewed my Tory MP the very well respected Ms Noakes today and as always she was critical of the clowns pretending to run the country. I now have so much respect for this woman that I could vote for her (but I won't). To think that Johnson would prefer Dorries and Patel for Cabinet appointments before her beggars belief and confirms my opinion that he is an incompetent bufoon.
