Go on then MR sit on the fence explain why . It’s my personal explanation for me going some will relate and others won’t but at least I offer something instead of aggressive sound bites .
“I know we are all different , a quote of my wife’s that stopped me from getting too angry or frustrated with so many people,” It may be something your wife says but surely it’s something that you’ve heard before. Why would you get “angry” or indeed “frustrated” with “so many people”? Does it really affect you that much or is it just overreactive bollocks that offers nothing but “l’m a better fan” **** I call it as bollocks & ****. “but whilst I have discussed on here how close I’ve come to stopping watching football - I just couldn’t do it.” Irrelevant bollocks to give you a feeling of superiority. “Maybe those who have don’t have the same longevity , history, parochial and emotional attachment that maybe I have” Maybe they have all these & more but they don’t feel the need to place themselves on a pedestal in order to boost their over inflated, self important egos. Maybe their circumstances are different to yours. Self important, ego boosting bollocks. “The thought of missing a good match or a goal nowadays more at home than away won’t let me stop.” Good for you. Pat yourself on the back bollocks “Met one of our well known ex players and had a discussion about the owners and he said that if you were a fan you go regardless because you are a fan - which is the point I’m trying to make .” Ex-players are ex-employees, usually without loyalty & normally not supporters. His opinion is irrelevant. If he said this, & believes it, then he simply has different principles & standards to some supporters. I’m glad my principles & standards stayed true. Bollocks & ****. “I’m sure I’ll get stick for this but maybe some of those stopping going were not as devoted as they thought unlike the ones who continue to go til they die , or don’t have that strange thing inside you for ‘ when Saturday comes’ It’s not the super fan thing so let’s not start that again - it’s just the difference?” It really is a Superfan thing. “I’m a better fan than you”, “I go till I really die”, You don’t have what it takes to be a supporter, like me” Self indulgent, self important “superfan” bollocks & ****.
I think I just go out of habit these days and will probably do so for the foreseeable, regardless of the incumbent owner or manager. For every Barnsley performance there's a Peterborough - t'was always thus.
Jesus that’s your interpretation , as I said some will think it’s the super fan thing - it’s nothing but my explanation for why I still go . You still haven’t given any explanation or reasoning for why you go to City , or maybe don’t . Mine’s genuine , I don’t rate myself better than other fans , Ive been going longer than many others but that’s a reflection of age nothing more . You’ve really got some serious anger issues that are being misdirected - identify what you are really angry about and deal with it. By the way my anger with other people is related to all sorts of political , social and societal issues most of which I have little control of and you’ve just demonstrated another one . It took me to ask you to explain fir you to move away from the single word mean nothing nouns of your first response . Been on this forum about 18 months proper cos I wanted discussion and opposing views - yours aren’t opposing views just the usual character assassination of someone you don’t know .
Why should I explain? Why I don’t go? Why would you demand I do? A superfan thing? There was one line explaining why you couldn’t stop going, the rest was snide digs aimed at those that don’t go trying to prove to your ego that you’re better. I have no anger issues, like you admit to having. I simply call a spade a spade. Your post was bollocks & ****, I explained why I thought so. If you don’t like it, get ****ed, I don’t care. 18months? You registered in the same few weeks as a few other similar minded pricks who have very similar punctuation styles, 8 years ago.
I didn’t demand you explain , but a forum is for discussion I had no digs at others that’s your warped interpretation You have no anger issues !! Have you read your own messages ? LOL I don’t get fussed about some punctuation because it’s not a formal letter. And the ‘get f****d says it all really - calm down really hit a nerve haven’t I ? Think I’ll stop now you really are not worth the thought involved .
That’s right. Shut up, **** off. I think people don’t turn up because there a fear they may end up sat / stood next to superfan ****s like you.
Gotta say Im a bit disappointed. Was thinking there'd be more that 1.5-2k on the gate once Allams fooked off. Saying that there does seem to be a solid 10% uptick without any real change in league status. We've got a base for a squad with a youthful bias. We are good enough to stay up but not challenge. Maybe if we start to challenge we'll be seeing another 5k on the gate, and then another 5k if we get promoted? 13k seems about inline with historic City crowds at the arse end of the championship.
On the attendance issue, looking now the ground looks fuller than under the Allam's. I suspect the increase is more like 3 or 4000. Under the Allam's it was proved that they over-declared the match day figures by 20%, which with 11,000 being the normal approximate figure published on match days meant actual 9,000. I assume that now figures issue is more in line with actual figures which means 4000+ extra. I have to say just looking at attendances this looks more nearer the mark IMO.
Good point. That's how it looks to me too. Anyone on here know if they are no longer inflating attendances?
I think if you're looking for an argument that new regime enthusiasm hasn't lasted I'm sure you can find it but seems to me there's loads of positivity still about what's going on off the pitch and the support away from home has been vociferous in last few games. Have to accept that if you go 4 games without a goal at home, you ain't giving fans too much to get excited about! It's a long term project and it's barely begun.
I thought the Allams used to count the number of tickets sold as opposed to the number of people physically in the ground ? ie counting all season ticket holders in the final number whether they were at the game or not.
It's common practice for the announced attendance to be a number roughly between the amount of tickets sold and the actual number of people who attend
That wasn't all they were doing. They were consistently adding 2-3,000 on every game. It was proved through an FOI request and also shown in the club's accounts.
I would suspect Allams attendance figures would be based on tickets sold - memberships and corporates not turning up as well as the hardy souls. Visually I'd say a coupe of thou average on actual bums on seats, Which is OK. It's hard to really estimate due to fluctuations in the away support, which in this league can be anything between 300 and 3k depending who it is on what day of the week, whether we're a ground tick or there's history, or whether there's a live stream or TV coverage that particular day.
Jesus Christ. Take Sir Chipshop Ben off ignore to see what this ****ing 'superfan' bollocks was about. Once again Ben's private fantasy. Yeah... . Back on ignore.
Only two posts mention “superfans”. If I was on ignore you wouldn’t have seen mine, leaving one posted by somebody close to you. Prick
The accounts show the actual amount of tickets sold, the announced attendances were completely made up, they exceeded the actual ticket sales by 15-20%.
