I’d agree with pretty much all that but there is a big “if” with regards to the “if we can go into next season with a match-day squad of…”.

We’ve gotta do everything in our power to keep Kane, getting top four this season even if unlikely would go a long way to convincing him. I don’t think he’s a money grabber like some other big name players but the club should offer to double his £200k a week salary if that also helps.

Keep Kane, add more quality on top of Romero, Bentancur and Kulusevski and Conte could well steer us to having a great 22/23 season. Lose Kane… I just don’t see where we go from there, we go back about three steps from where we are now and the rebuild looks so much harder than what it already is. A 20+ goal a season striker doesn’t replace Kane, he’s so much more than goals. As of right now, a Kane-less Tottenham scares the **** out of me.

EDIT: And to a lesser extent, we need to also hope Madrid don't activate the buy back for Reguilon, which I think is looking increasingly likely. There's a sparse amount of good quality LBs/ LWBs at the moment.

The Wolves and Saints game were anomalies, here's hoping Everton and Man Utd will be too...

Well after our last two PL matches we should be in top form and really give you guys a good game.

However as RCL shows, we a on a good/bad cycle, and unfortunately our match against you is one of our scheduled dreadful performances.

One certainty at present is that Utd will be woeful.
The win against Spurs in October seems a long time ago. It wasn’t a great performance but it was clinical.

Did anyone understand Fat Frank's tactics? I couldn't make any sense of them.
Why pick Kenny when you've got Mykolenko on the bench?
Where was van de Beek supposed to be playing? Why rush Calvert-Lewin back? Very odd.

I think his tactics were hope Colman winds somebody up enough to get sent off, judging by Hojbjerg being on security detail at half time while Romero and Dier looked ready for a late dinner

What was that about? I could see it all getting a bit handbaggy, but I missed what set it off.

Suppose the Mykolenko thing might be down to his head understandably being a bit off things at the moment.

**** knows on van de Beek.

The Calvert-Lewin question is similar to what we’ve all said with regards to rushing Kane/ Son back over the years, generally it’s managerial desperation I’d say.

IIRC, there was a high ball and one of their players shoved ours out of the way, so Hojbjerg returned the favour

The other obvious question is why do they only have one left-back?

Rushing back players at 70% is just stupid. Calvert-Lewin was invisible yesterday.
Rondon's not perfect, but he scored a couple on Thursday.
Alternatively, just push Richarlison up front and pick one of Townsend, Iwobi, El Ghazi or Alli.

Similar to us again - why do we only have one striker? <laugh>

Rondon’s a solid player too, not a world beater but it was only a couple years back I’m sure we were linked with him as a possible backup to Kane. He can be a handful on his day.

Sanctioning the sale of Digne in January when there were already huge question marks hanging over the manager's head was a massive error of judgement and typical of the endless stream of errors that have left Everton where they are now.
