It’s probably daft but with all that’s going on in the world I’m losing more and more interest in the back office controversies and just want to watch the bloody team play. for me this team is good enough do bulldoze these playoffs and that’s all I’m interested in.
There's a few over the road talking about a fan buy out I genuinely think it would be a good idea but only as a short term to then pass the club onto someone else in the same way Pompey did.
I’ve just read. Its way over the top in my opinion. I’ve posted my thoughts and I’ll probably get shouted down.
Money has a tendency to gravitate to money KLD and Sartori have the sort of wealth SD & CM can only dream of. KLD and Sartori own 61% of the club and effectively KLD runs it. Now you try and sell a minority 39% stake in a business and you are unlikely to have a queue of willing buyers particularly in these circumstances. SD & CM can hang around for a while and make things more difficult than they need to be but it's currently costing them money. They won't be here forever or even that much longer. I would speculate that some sort of deal will be concluded before the end of the close season and they will be gone. Of course I do have a history of getting things completely wrong
Not a chance. It's one thing raising the funds to buy a club - what is it? £30/40m to purchase SAFC? It's a completely different thing then having the funds to run the thing as Donald and Methven found out. You need a club to be self sufficient in order for fanbase ownership model to work, otherwise you need a rich benefactor. The irony is, that KLD is seeking to make the club self sufficient but people don't like that approach and they seem to think a billionaire is duty bound to pump personal money into the club.
So what happens after that? If there is an agreed business plan to put in $8M over time, but then it ends, and there is no agreement for KLD to buy more shares? I think I should stop speculating. The minutes did say something about the end of the season, so we'll see.
I'd assume the obligation is towards operational expenditure (opex) which is the day to day running of the club. Whether transfers are included in that I don't know, but if KLD wants to (for example) extend the stadium (arf) that would be seen as capital expenditure (capex) and outside the normal operation of the club and the other shareholders aren't obliged to meet his funding. That's my limited understanding of it anyway In terms of a time limit (and I misunderstood what part you were referring to) then I'd assume that any funds owning have to be paid by FY End at the latest. So the other owners have to match the investment within the same financial year Anyway, there will be greater minds than mine on here who can comment on it - I'm only going off what I know about Ltd Company ownership
I have seen it mentioned previously that fans should buy out the two clowns. Few problems with that for me: Just short 12 million would need to be raised to buy out their 39%of 30 million. How many would be willing to put money in the pocket if them two? Would they still be willing if parachute payments were still owed? How many of those willing to put some cash in could afford it given the fact that cost of living has shot up recently? If the money was raised who are the shares then given to? KLD? Is he thr right perso? The fans couldn't raise the money then the ongoing costs could they?
Why no! With the cost of living being what it is (and rising!) we are going to need the season ticket price frozen never mind buying out shareholders.
Dunno about anyone else but I don't want to put the ****ing heating on. I'm quite far through a job application that will see a significant rise in my wages, otherwise I don't know how we will cope. And I'm sure I'm not in the minority with that!
Good luck mate and yep we all need to tighten our belts (we were so lucky our term ended before this crap happened so we are fixed for another year or so)
Judging by the graphs shown on the tv this morning it was a lot worse in the 70s and everyone got through that, in fact I can hardly remember it.
I remember the 4-day working week back then and there were a hell of a lot more power cuts than there are now. People just got on and made the best of the situation instead of whinging and trying to claim compo.
Pro rata electric was dearer gas was dearer inflation was higher mortgage rates were higher and I thought ( could be wrong) but in Leicestershire I think we were on 3 day weeks.
