It’s odd for me as I have always wished them well and made no secret that I would like to see our local rivalry eclipse the Utd one in terms of relevance

I also thought that they needed to go down to show them that their current actions are not working and allow them to reset - it would also give them a genuine shot at a trophy next season.

however the risk of going down is that there is no guarantee you come back and it would be strange with no Everton in the league.

then there is the pure arrogance and smugness demonstrated by some of their fans on social media platforms - which would make relegation too funny

also I don’t like how they treated Rafa

so with all things considered I think I not fussed either way. Not that my opinion in anyway is relevant to anyone lol

Thing is, as much as it would be funny for Everton to go down, that probably means Burnley stay up which isn’t ideal either.

I think Everton were too hasty in sacking Rafa Benitez, he has better idea about football than Frank Lampard.

You need someone to dig in and fight and while rafa has Newcastle experience, lampard has none.

They need to have players dig in and deliver.

There was a time when I wouldn’t have liked to see Everton down - 2 PL teams in the City is a good thing. That said, since we’ve started to win things and they’ve gone through their acquisition with all the stadium plans etc etc, I got bored of the vitriol and would rejoice like most reds when if they went down.

Forest manager awaits Liverpool reunion – 9 years after leaving

Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper described the FA Cup quarter-final clash against Liverpool as a tie that will “catch the imagination” after his side set it up by beating Huddersfield 2-1 at the City Ground.

Forest advanced to the last eight of the competition for the first time in 26 years having come from behind against their Championship rivals, Ryan Yates netting the winner after Sam Surridge had cancelled out Tom Lees’ opener.

    Nice competitive tie.

they should focus on the Play offs :bandit:

If this was a home game then we'd be very confident. the away game makes is far more exciting.

I watched a bit of the arsenal 3rd round tie and arsenal were all over the place, absolutely pants and forest were industrious and dynamic.
I watched a bit of the Leicester 4th round and forest were similar.

Imo if we want to progress we have to dial it up a notch from lackadaisical to half arsed at minimum. Not a game for lazy players wandering round.

Having been born into a family of Blues and brought up near Goodison I always had a soft spot for Everton and wanted them to do well - as long as they were behind us :) We used to go and stand in either ground, red and blue mixed, and there was (for the most part) a family atmosphere that was renowned throughout the country.
However, the atmosphere has turned toxic, and the growing bitterness of lots of their fans over the years has gone some way to eroding that sympathy so if they went down I wouldn't lose any sleep.
Though I am quite shocked at the depth of mismanagement at the club that has led to this predicament.

Meh....they've been punching above their weight for decades <whistle>......might be the best thing for 'em.
The clubs treatment of Rafa deserves relegation alone.

If this was 10 years ago I'd be fully behind Everton staying up, you really want two clubs in the prem for the city.

I've been to goodison many times, had some good times, especially back in 96 when they where in the cup winners cup.

It's changed though, you don't get the banter or the feeling of togetherness that I used to.
