It’s what we’ve been given though, so we’ll all have to squint - us more than most

I have nothing against Newcastle fans but you need to take a joke when you see one. Having said that, it was done slightly out of annoyance that some of your fans celebrate getting a game called off like a win and then moan when the game is rescheduled for a Thursday night! And Howe also had a moan IIRC. And let's be honest, you had enough players to play the game when originally scheduled.

That depends on your definition of 'players'. Half of our squad is utter horse ****e.

Look, my main issue is with the PL letting teams get away with getting games called off for mainly injuries and a few covid cases. I don't blame you for doing it and you're certainly not alone in doing it. However, I do have an issue with Howe saying he was "surprised" at the rescheduling and complaining about 3 away games in 7 days. You requested the postponements so you have to take the tough run of fixtures now.

Can't argue with that. All the games have to be played at some point. Postponing just means they pile up.

If you want to make amends you can beat Everton at Goodison next week because it would be ****ing hilarious if Everton went down. :)

You need to lighten up. It was a joke. Feel free to go back to your own board if you don't like it.

Everton fans were like this when they got rich and took Koeman.

Howe was a great appointment for you lot. Very underrated manager.

Basically if you guys put a load of this dosh into improving your academy and producing young English talent, then I’m all for it. Good luck to you.

If you just piss it all up the wall trying to get fourth place as soon as possible, just to appease the Saudis, then I hope it all goes tits up royally!

Nothing personal against Newcastle fans by the way. Good bunch.

It's just nice to be rid of Ashley tbh. I just enjoy having some hope we might even compete for a cup. That'll do. Just the hope.

All fans deserve hope at all clubs.

I'm looking fwd to this match I hope we see a good one mate :emoticon-0148-yes:

Similar situation to ourselves. We’d become stagnant with our previous owner. Now at least we can be moderately optimistic about the future.

Regards the game, mate you honestly escaped a big hiding in December. Think that would have been 4 or 5 nil, the form we were on plus your depleted squad. And because of that I’m fully expecting to get beaten on Thurs. That’s football, haha.

One of the things I'm most excited about with this takeover is that the owners want to build a long-term infrastructure from bottom up. From the training ground facilities, academy / youth teams, enhancing St James Park, the lot.

Yes having cash for transfers seems sexy, but it can easily be wasted. The likes of Man City and Chelsea didnt always get it right especially early days. But the longer term vision is far more exciting .

I think Dan Ashworrh will be a more influential signing long-term than any player we can hope to buy. Hopefully he and Howe will make a great team for building success on and off the pitch.

Not really. At the end of the day this is the Southampton part of the forum, not the Newcastle one. I like opposition fans visiting our match threads but not if they come on and start calling people cock stains. You don't like the thread title, piss off back to your own match thread.

Good I'm pleased you don't like it.

Try not being provocative and you'll get less of the things you don't like mate.

If you can't take a little banter back then don't give it basically.

    Enjoy the game :emoticon-0148-yes:
