Tempted to go through the transfer thread to nudge a couple of posters who wrote him off before he even arrived...
It'd be terrible if Everton were managed by somebody who called our home ground "Three Point Lane", wouldn't it...?
Well that was fun, the game was there to be won from the moment they decided to press high and that's how it worked out, but Everton are a very poor side and we have much harder games ahead starting Saturday. Can I just ask who was wearing the number 2 shirt tonight because he was unrecognisable from the bloke who has been wearing it! Kulu and Bentancur were both excellent tonight, as was Kane (obvs)
Genuine question: does Richarlison owe every single one of our CBs money? Because they treated him like he did all night
Giovani Lo Celso Played 55, Goals 1, Assists 2. Tanguy Ndombele Played 63, Goals 6, Assists 5. Dejan Kulusevski Played 6, Goals 2, Assists 3.
Yes I love that about him. Not afraid to get stuck in and give as good as he gets. He combines the best of Chadli with the best of Lamela, for me.
Spurs are vulnerable to teams that attack and to teams that defend. Luckily today they played Everton.
Frozen to bits but well worth it. Some brilliant performances, front three all superb with Kane just being Kane, absolutely loving Kulusevski, I said it the other week against Leeds but he’s just made for this league and style of football. Bentancur also class, huge step in quality in the midfield when he plays, so nice having two new signings that actually look like genuine improvements for this squad. Reguilon with a great impact off the bench but my MOTM has to go to Matt Doherty, unreal performance, hit two Pirlo-esque passes, a few nice crosses and defended well, that’s the guy we thought we were getting from Wolves last season. Lovely reception for Dele when he came on (and Mykolenko too), managed to grab this at the end of the game, Hugo told him to come over and lap up the cheers from fans, can’t say for certain but looked like he got a little emotional:
Tottenham manager Antonio Conte talking to BBC Sport: "A good night for sure. For my players and our fans, I am sure they are very delighted for this performance. A very important three points for the table. "We will try to fight until the end for the best possible position in the table. A top four race for sure and we want to be involved. I think we are becoming stronger in many aspects. "We have to avoid ups and downs and to be a stable team. We have to take the responsibility now. We have to fight to reach the best possible position and to fight for a place in the Champions League. "For sure it won't be easy. We need to have ambition and I think we can do this, I think we ready to do this. "A good night, but I always say to my players 'from tomorrow' we need to prepare for the game against United. I want an important answer in an important game to confirm what I think that this team is improving. Now this is the past. "Harry Kane played an amazing game, like the other players. It is important to confirm on Saturday what we showed, otherwise we start again to have up and down. A big challenge against an important team who are fighting for a place in the Champions League."
Kulusevski in particular looks an outstanding buy. He's so young all he needed may have been the right system and a little encouragement.
I'll probably get shot for saying this but he reminds me of Arshavin (without all the hype) when he was at his best pre- Arsenal.
Didn’t see the game as working, sounds like a good win. Was it another case of Kane and Son were on form and were largely responsible for the win?
