I wouldn't know where they need to start cos honestly their best kids are turning into egotistical brats and that feeds into that thought about rotten to the core too. I mean all clubs have issues with keeping kids straight and kids showing the ethic to come through and not arrogance but.... Utd have given us some beatings at underage over the past year and their players are nearly always fitter, bigger, more athletic and ready for the next step. but look at a few examples. greenwood. nightmarish. all that time and effort to develop a world beater and well.. he turns out to be a wife beater. now puns aside Angel gomes - i've seen him a lot playing our underage players and he basically told utd to go do one and is now in lille in france, well he was but they loaned him out as he's not bothered. Chong - another will a lot of talent but utd are making him into the next harry wilson by loaning him out. they've sent him anywhere they could and half the time he's returned early. the actual truth is utd penny pinch at youth level but have to fish in the same pond as man city. City offer private schooling and all sorts of under the table stuff while utd turn up with part time coaches etc. Is it any real wonder when they have pogba and the like as examples that theres egos all over the oyuth ptiches as well.
Each team plays 10 games but it is one big league table? So Man City could play Young Boys, Bate, Malmo, etc and we play Barcelona, Real Madrid, and PSG etc, and we're on the same table and that's supposed to be fair?
my guess is the top 10 in co efficient play the bottom 10 to ensure as many as possible of the "big" teams get thru . Sounds ****e to me .
one might say that they only do it for the home team so it is also one more little thing that you get away with.
Pretty much this. After all the moaning about ESL, uefa have pushed through **** changes to a comp that format wise was fine. This is designed to essentially reduces the chances even more that a big team Goes out ag the group stages, but giving them 10 games instead of 6 plus even if they **** that up, a 2 legged play off against another team that failed to finish top 8. For smaller team that previously had a chance in a 4 team Group if they won a couple of their home games and then got a couple of draws to sneak through with 8/9 points. They’ll now need to win at least 5 or 6 to realistically have a chance to finish in top 8
In the interests of transparency the draw will surely need to be done publicly. That's going to be a mammoth task. Maybe they could turn it into a mini series.
To see who plays who. Maybe I replied to the wrong comment but if as you say top 10 play bottom 10 that still leaves 16 teams. What means will they use to decide who plays who amongst them?
That was tried in football a few years ago. Think it was when players refused to retreat quick enough or argued the decision but not sure. Again, referees just didn't bother enforcing it
I'm a bit lost with it all tbh. I'm trying to imagine how they decide who plays who and whether it will be home or away without some kind of draw. I'd say explain to me how you think it will be decided only I'm guessing what your answer would be
Poor old Forest and Uddersfeeled. Relegated to ITV4 on a Monday night because nobody gives a toss about them apart from their fans. The only reason I even know it's on is because one of them will play us next.
I think forest played Friday night as well or something so they really have been completely shafted by doing well and winning in the cup. They should have been on Tuesday last but due to Europe not one prem team was asked take this poisonous slot. At least whoever does go through will be assure a max crowd and TV money in the qf.
