Same. I still expect it will still be our last summer dealing with our existing contacts Unless he backtracks on the sale but I can’t see why he would
And if they're not, I don't see how, if Abramovich does face sanctions, he can sell it. Complicated one, I think.
That is why he said about proceeds to help those in Ukraine. I think that will stop sanctions against him. Cost him 1.5 billion in loans, but probably saved as much in sanctions. Or maybe I am being cynical.... EDIT Greg beat me to it
Gossip today is that Villa are in for Suarez. Surely they can’t afford to carry him, Watkins and Ings on their wage bill? They were also linked with Kessie who will also be on massive money as he is a free agent from Milan with seemingly lots of suitors Something really doesn’t seem right with their apparent budgets unless they have loopholed it with the max allowed contributions from owners etc Edit: read a further rumour that they are open to selling Watkins with Arsenal interested. I guess he is the most saleable asset of the two and will allow them to fund other business Quite what Villa fans will make of it though. But maybe they won’t care if they end up with Coutinho and Suarez ?
Wrong thread I know but is anyone able allude why he’s not on the sanction list as of yet, whilst others are? The official reason type stance that is, not the possible “money” reason?
The Grealish transfer, basically. Both the injection of a giant pile of money, and the fact that it eliminates any possibility of FFP woes on wages given that it's all paper profit on the sale.
Very pleased for Brentford. They needed that badly. If they can back it up by beating Burnley next, they'll be able to breath so much easier. Massive game, that one.
It is really starting to look like the current bottom 3 will be the ones going down. And that only Burnley might be able to pull away Perhaps unreasonable to say as Burnley and Watford have played / are playing Chelsea and Arsenal this weekend. And there is a long way to go in this arsenal match
If Burnley half the deficit to Brentford next weekend - with two games in hand on them - I think they will just survive. Whether at Brentford's expense, or someone else's. Burnley still have home games vs Wolves, us, Villa and Newcastle (late season home games against sides stuck in midtable is just what you want when fighting relegation), plus away trips to Norwich and Watford.
Burnley & Brentford play each other next don't they? If Brentford win that I think they'll be fine. Lose though and they'll be favourites to go and battling Leeds imo. That's Burnley's only fixture in March at the moment too. Still 3 to rearrange.
