there are strong rumours that sutils place will be filled by hulkenburg (a paying driver) for next year. i dint really understand this because at the moment he is beating di resta so why should sutil move over?

what ever the reason i find myself thinking that i dont want sutil to leave F1 because he has proven that he is a fast driver (albeit fairly unconsistant at times). one notable drives are monaco 2008 where he was about to finish 4th from 19th until raikkonen crashed into him. others include a 4th place in monza 2009 and qualifying 7th in germany 2009 where he was taken out in the race by raikkonen again
    (ironic? slightly)

i think that there are a few possibilities for him left in the sport and that he should stay in F1

Mclaren, Ferrari, Redbull - all closed shops until 2012 where webber and massa are out of contract, but even then it would be hard to get a race seat

Mercedes- both drivers have contract up until 2012 as far as i know, plus ot would alsobe hard to get in here

Renault- a possibility that he was linked to in the past, but will all of their drivers i dont know if they would be willing to to throw another one into the mix, especially with petrov's money he is almost guarenteed a seat, so its basically 3 drivers for one seat (if kubica gets better)

Sauber- both drivers still in contract for next year

Torro rosso- not a real prospect because of the number of drivers they already have wanting seats, but it would be a good place to go on the off chance his is given a chance in a redbull if he proves himself in the car

Williams- a possibility for him and they have expressed interest, but they have also said that they would prefer Raikkonen for the seat (ironic? definately)

HRT,Lotus,Virgin- im preety sure they would make space for him, but to be honest it would be a bad move, hed still be in F1 but mainly younger drivers benefit from these small teams, older drivers tend to get stuck in slow cars when they move to a smaller team

it doesnt look good for him, but the most likely place i think is Williams, an unlikely chance at Torro Rosso and an even more unlikely place at renault.

i really hope that somehow he gets a raceseat for next year because i dont want to see him leave the sport, only time will tell.

    thought?

If he was looking at the Renault seat, I wonder whether his Shanghai club shenanigans with Eric Lux might count against him? I think he'd really regret that one if he can't get the seat. At the back of the grid, Glock, Trulli and Kovalainen all have contracts, which leaves D'ambrosio, who I believe Robert Wickens is being lined up to replace, or the 2 HRT seats. As I've stated before elsewhere, I think Red Bull will try to repeat the Ricciardo setup next year, and I could easily see Vergne in a similar contract. If Raikkonen does come back, I think thats nearly every seat accounted for.

    Williams or nothing.
That's pretty much it for Sutil.

Sutil is a good driver - at least as good as Hulkenberg in my opinion; but I think Eric Lux might have a few things to say if he were to read this incognito.

It looks like Sutil's a bit stuffed, unless FI change their minds last-minute.
To be honest, the problem with Sutil is that despite having been in F1 for four years now, he still has a tendency to make rookie mistakes and, as has been mentioned, is inconsistent. I'd expect him to end up either testing/reserving for Mercedes or Force India.

Yeap, that just about they way I see it too, he might replace Liuzzi at HRT, but I think they'd perfer someone to come in with loads of cash.

For someone with Sutil's track record to go to Virgin or in particular Hispania would be career suicide.

Losing to a Vettel or an Alonso in a world-beating car is not the end of the world, and nor is taking a sabbatical. On the other hand, losing to the next Vettel or Alonso in a milk float would make him nigh-on unemployable.

Made me smile....but with a large helmet to balance on his head, I doubt he would have the same stance as Usain Bolt lol.

Looks like we're going to hear an announcement from Force India earlier than expected.

If Sutil hasn't made it, his best chance of staying in F1 next year could be a test/reserve driver role.

Pretty much admitting he wants Nico to replace sutil, they don't need his sponsorship with this new found cash and the future potential is larger than it is now.

That's a hard decision Hulkenburg or Sutil and Di Resta in the mix... I honestly cannot decide because they are all good talents and drivers. Going to be interesting to see who Vijay chose, but one thing's for sure it really is a hard decision to make and one of those 3 are going to be gutted afterwards...

I wouldn't be surprised if he replaces Schumacher in 2012, he is making a fool out of himself (even if he has improved), he is still getting beaten by Rosberg nearly every race.
Canada or Spa may have been great races, but he should be matching Rosberg consistently, and it is not happening.
For me it is not nice to watch.

Wow Manny never saw that comment coming. Have you changed your thoughts on the Schumacher situation? For me Schumacher talked to Crofty on 5LiveFormula1 last night and Michael sounded really upbeat about the next coming years especially 2013.

I as a supporter, have been 100% upbeat every GP, but how much failure can one watch.
Nevertheless even if he retires I will still support him up until that, he has been very brave and driven very well in the circumstances he joined.
Mercedes are not improving though, and that is the spanner in the works, we will probably never see him win another race again.
But at least his input into Mercedes has been well used for progress.
I wish he was in a top team, but failure comes first.... and it's hitting Schumacher face on at present.

    ---------------------------

After listening to the radio program, I feel better. But watching the team get some high results and then collapse suddenly is a poor feeling.
I have never really experienced following a midfield team before, maybe when they do get onto the winning road success will feel fantastic.
Yes we have seen glimpses, and I am happy there is a plan for the near future.
We have to sit back and watch, and that is the hard bit.
