That's what I thought, but it's not something we normally do so it surprised me.

Well tbh i felt sorry for pukki as he absolutely burst a gut chasing down with no help until it was 1-2 down and he was ran out by that stage. All he got was dogs abuse off pundits for missing the one chance that fell his way.

Nobody mentions salah's weak header nor the fact he missed 3 off brandon williams shocking defending. esp the one where he tried to curl it in.

Thats the difference between "winning" and "losing" i expect. norwich ran pukki into the ground, their best player by a freaking mile without any real suppost and he willing did it. I have nothing but praise for his game

It really annoys me when pundits come out with "he's got to score there" or "he's got to do better" every time someone doesn't quite get it right - even if it's down to good defending. As if none of them ever missed an opportunity or made a mistake.
Pukki is a decent player who'd probably do well in a mid-table team - but he'll be 32 next month so it might be getting a bit late for him.

Also annoys me when they say he has to hit the target from some shots. Don’t appreciate that the top keepers shut off angles and get out quickly so forwards have to aim for the corners or the smallest gaps which is obviously going to increase chances of ball going wide.

Probably what happened with Pukki one yesterday. Yeah could have just hit it at Alison and got it on target but chance of scoring would be about 1% unless keeper ****s up. Only chance to score was to hit that far corner so was always a chance was going to drag it wide.

It's hard to believe some of them ever played the game - never mind at the highest level - when they come out with such bollocks so often.

Inter go back on top of Serie A by beating Salernitana 5-0

Inter were at home and Salernitana are bottom of the league.

Yeah but... they have to come and score 3. Away goals are gone so they might have one eye on their own league already even in the back of their minds.

This is why taking away goals rule away kills ties. We have the healthy lead but also every advantage going in second leg. They have not even thr hope to get a gaol and pressurise us really

If we score I can see them just stop and manager take off all their older players on 6omins

They only need 2 to send it to extra time, which we could do without - but I can't see them stopping us scoring. Outscoring us by 2 is a mammoth task for them.
I agree a first-half goal for us should kill the tie.

The best example imo is atleico second leg at anfield at start of coivd.

    0-1

We score and take it to extra time as we can't afford to let an away goal in.

We score and then they need to come out. They score and sudden we must score and were shattered.

After that then they get a late 3rd to end it on break.

We would probably have won in in normal time of there was no away goals and we could really go for them but at 2-2 we would not have conceded another as it would have gone to pens.

All the advantages go to the team at home in the second leg imo

On the other hand. Play home first leg, win 2-0. Go away and score an early goal and suddenly home team needs 4 and game is over.

Away goal has both advantage and disadvantage. For every scenario where no away goals kills the tie is a scenario where no away goals do.

Don’t see what the fuss is about it. It was brought in because teams would go away from home and sit back and not attack. Not really happens in most games these days

you will end up with games finishing about 11 o'clock as extra time will become fairly regular and then pens .

Yeah the home side has every advantage going with the 2nd leg.

    Home crowd.

Extra time in front of home fans.

Control of ball boys to slow up or speed up game

    Refs always favour home sides

Pens in front of home fans etc etc etc.

If you have a home tie first you simply now have to win it and then go try counter attack game.

So Teams now have to try to win their home game? Unlike before when they would deliberately try to lose their home game….

Again if all things are equal would you rather bring a side back to anfield for a second leg or no?

0-1, 0-0, 1-0 it wouldn't matter for me. I'd be confident we would get after them and now we don't even need to worry about losing a goal as that disaster 2 goal swing is gone.

The home side will now have 90mins with home crowd backing. Own facilities, own ball boys, crowd on refs back etc. You can set any tone you like.

    30mins extra

Penalties in front of home crowd.

The away team has zero in their favour.

Hell a mourinho can go as far as not cut the grass or not water the pitch if they like!

The away goal was the only thing a home side needed to be careful of.

You both play a game at home. You both play a game away.

If you don’t win your own home game then chances are you won’t go through.

I’d imagine even with away goals, most teams that play at home and don’t win first leg don’t go through. Don’t see how that’s any different now.

Away goals rule was introduced to encourage teams to stop parking the bus in the away fixture. The rule made no difference to a home side.

I can understand what MITO is getting away, just doesn't really apply to our match with Inter.
