Let's be honest, Derby and Reading's points deductions have put us in a false position. Without that we'd be right in it.
Better than a 0-0. #AskAcun As good as safe & hopefully assessing & planning for next season We move on.
I think we have to accept, that we are a very very lucky club ... where we are at the moment. Not only have we been gifted space by the points deductions of Derby and Reading, but in the last 6 weeks or thereabouts, every Saturday or mid week that we haven't turned up, the teams immediately below us haven't either. I couldn't go today, so it would be unfair of me to comment on the performance, I'll leave that to this that did. I was all for giving the new manager time, but it strikes me our performances have gone backwards and then some under him and I was fervently for and pleased in McC going. I don't want to watch 90's Wimbledon, especially when you haven't the staff to play that way. I was recalling two goals in recent times, Longman v Everton which was about 20 passes before the strike and the Eaves goal v Swansea which was about 28 I recall - I know that was under SA, but it really wasn't as even he said the staff set things up, including the team, it shows what we can do, but most definitely are NOT doing now. I hope Acun has deep pockets and is very persuasive because if we get away with it this year unless we have wholesale changes, in staff and playing style we wont get away with it next. Lastly, whenever THEY score first, we lose...
not convinced at all that Arveladze is the right manager for City. He got the job as he is Acun’s friend not because of his managerial record. There are plenty of managers out there that have better records than him Acun could have employed
Yes we need at least one new quality striker but because of the lack of height and physicality in midfield we often get bullied and therefore struggle to create anything going forward. I know we were after him a few years back but Norwood at Sheffield Utd is exactly the sort of player we're lacking.
Bollocks.... I'm happy they got the deduction (very) 9 points were for events of last season not this and 12 for going into adminstration.
Penalty killed the game, and came from Greaves’ own error. He was pretty crap throughout as were several others. Better than the shocking Barnsley showing, but not by much.
Yes way better than Barnsley and late in the first half thought it was a decent game and City playing reasonably well. Even Smallwood was putting a few passes together. And KLP was looking dangerous. The penalty killed the game.
In the 2nd half Greaves was our best attacking threat, he was managing to get between the centre halves and make good runs in behind them, he got a few telling crosses in, sadly Eaves couldn't get himself on the end of them in the 6 yeard box. He was trying to make up for the huge penalty rick he made at the start of the half.
Well it was dreadful again, KLP misses a golden chance, then the usual. Slow start cant pass to a team mate, create next to nothing and give a soft goals away, had a good go in the last 15mins of first half, then 2nd half ridiculous penalty to give away and it was game over. I am not convinced that Shota knows what he is doing, as his subs are just the same as mccann's were swapping like for like and nothing else. 3-4-3 didnt work should have switched it to 3-5-2. We have mostly a league 1 squad thought doc and smallwood were awful in midfield, but plenty of others could be added to that list. Allah whats his name looks awful too, hs contribution today 2 x ridiculous dives (i ****ing hate it), 3 x petty free kicks against his and 3 passes straight to the opposing players. A massive, massive overhaul is needed and it might not stop at the playing squad if we dont get it right at the start of next season.
