No question on the second penalty, first I think is a little harsh. High foot decisions never go in our favour
I’m less bothered by their penalty decisions, which I think were both justified, than by the horror show failure to give a penalty to us when Williams got slammed, when we have conceded so many penalties exactly like that. An absolute shocker of a decision and that would have likely made it 1-1 and a very different game.
No rob, we have played some decent stuff but you can’t account for giving away 2 penalties in 5mins. We just aren’t clinical enough, we’ve had 4 or 5 good chances to score and not taken them
Have we played some decent stuff? Maybe a bit at a very comfortable distance from Brentford’s penalty area, but it’s horribly static and we’ve barely threatened their goal, have we?
Honestly think I am capable of playing like Gilmour, float around in midfield, find a bit of space in midfield to receive the ball from the CB and play it first time back to the CB, rinse and repeat. End up with 90% passing accuracy. Job done
Rashica should have scored early on, Gilmour blazed the follow up over the bar, Pukki has a good shot near post, Sargent hit a half chance over the bar first time, Gilmour tame effort from outside of the box, penalty shout
Yeah a strange decision not even to use the lines, I thought it didn’t matter if the ball went backwards? The other killer is we’ve had about six minutes just of VAR checks this half. Let’s see what extra time says… not that it will make any difference given how flimsy we are.
We're going down, and what's worse, we're going down with Smith as our manager. It's the end of the yo-yo years.
Do you honestly think Farke would be doing better? Buendia was the key, Farke couldn’t win a game without him
This season, in the Prem, no. But I don't imagine he'd be doing any worse by this stage. Remember, Farke's first 11 games yielded 5 points, but we did play Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea, we had had a truncated pre-season, and we did have more than half a team of new players to try to integrate into a winning side. Smith has had 16 games and earned 12 points from easier games with a team who were more familiar with each other. I think that makes their records this season roughly equal.
Yes, I honestly do. I can’t see how it could be any worse, we are still incredibly leaky at the back and yet totally predictable going forwards. We at least would play nice football under Farke.
Massive injury crisis for about 5 of those games. I’m confident Dean Smith is a better manager and will be better for us in the long run
