    I'd have said Bendtner when he was at Arsenal....but he's found his rightful level at Sunderland....so I'll go for Terry or Carrick. <badger>

    When Heskey played alongside Owen for England under Mclaren, he was fantastic at setting him up, something Owen and Rooney never managed together.

    Gareth Barry. £20m midfielder, England regular who wore captains arm band once. Plays for a team who will win the league or be very close and will win loads of trophies. Does **** all in a match ever. Can't tackle, score, create. Fair enough he can pass a ball, but ****in hell £100k a week for that.

    re read my earlier posts and you'll see I said he was a great player but for me and this is why i say he's over hyped there were at least 4 or 5 players who i can think of who I believe were better players during the period of his playing career and i was questioning his label as worlds best player ever (hence over hyped) this is my opinion and i'll stick by it. For me the better players were Eusébio,Ferenc Puskás,Johan Cruyff,George Best,Franz Beckenbauer and two from his team Rivelino and Jairzinho who I could think of who to me were better players than pele I'm not disputing him as a good player just the worlds best player ever as he has been hyped to **** in my opinion and most people who say he was the worlds best player have done so due to the hype created by others....so no I'm not joking just stating my opinion

    Gerard Pique. Not a great defender. Good at attacking, but is arguably Barca's weakest link. Vidic is a lot, lot better defender. I know I will get slaughtered for saying it but its what I think

    It is possible to be both overrated and great at the same time, the two do not necessarily contradict each other. Somebody could be a brilliant footballer but have millions of people wailing at their feet as though they're the next Pele or something. Just like Sgt Peppers is a great album, but some people go on about it as though it's better than anything Beethoven wrote.

    totally agree what people forget about Pele throughout his international career he was surrounded by talented players some i'd say were better than him,where the likes of Best,Eusébio and Puskás were in one man teams what would they have done in those Brazilian teams Pele played in?
