Good bait. You tried The Lairds House in Bedlington? Great little boutique hotel/restaurant/boozer. Good food in general pricey for Bedlington. The old top club.
Not been there mate but will try it out soon. Nipped into The Keel Row for some lunch before the Norwich game and wound up on the piss all day afterwards and been back a couple of times since.
Been a while for me. Sometimes nip down the back of there when out on the mountain bikes to get onto the trails back to Blyth. Still lively in there for the games?
Never watched the game there, its full of scousers according to the landlady. Just went in for some lunch with the wife, had a pint then rather than getting dropped off in town met up with my Mum and her bloke in Whitley Bay at The Briardene and getting hammered with them - wound up having to taxi into town and missed first 15 minutes of game Been back a few times - My genius way of getting a lift into town. I'll say to Mrs, fancy a spot of early lunch then dropping me off in Town?
If you've got dogs then Keel Row is Dog Friendly. Good grub, big servings and good prices. Downside - It's in the middle of ****ing nowhere so requires a driver or a taxi.
Only on a thread about Ww3 could you find an advert from the Northumberland tourist board! I have found recently I am reading threads and getting my daily news fix from here Time to take a timeout I think
The only problem with your position Pouchy is you’re advocating that if the elected government of a country wants to join an international organization but a bigger neighbour country feels threatened by it then the elected government of the smaller country shouldn’t join that organization. Or have I missed something? In this conflict Ukraine should not be invaded by Russia for Ukraine wanting to join NATO. That’s the bottom line. Anything else is irrelevant to this issue. It doesn’t matter who said what or who looked “funny” at who. It doesn’t matter what the West says or the East or the bloke on the street in Timbuktu says. It’s what Ukraine says that counts so long as it’s not illegal etc. So if Ukraine want to join NATO and NATO agree then no matter how it is dressed up Russia are in the wrong and action needs to be taken to redress that wrong.
Its all the Wests fault. The Russian army had absolutely no choice but to shoot and blow up children. Their hands are tied. Ukraine wanted to join NATO. ****ing shoot those kids
If you see a 2007 Volkswagen Touran driving out of Kiev, open fire and kill all the occupants. If theres a family of 4, make sure you pick off the youngins. Its not our fault, they wanted to join the EU Hit the toddlers first
Yeah. It’s just genuinely confusing isn’t it JT? Mistakes happen, everyone’s so ****ing judgemental these days.
If only the world was that simple. I don’t believe that you actually think you can simply ignore foreign policies to such an extent that it’s simply about one country’s desire to join an ‘organisation’. I don’t believe you are that naive with so little understanding of world affairs. I think you know exactly what has been going on for the last century and what NATO and those running that show are trying to achieve. I don’t like the idea of NATO in any way and think it needs disbanded. I am still not advocating invading another country under any circumstance. I do however believe we have to stop this cycle. To do that will require more than just simple linear thought about what is wrong in a small fraction of the conflict i.e. the nasty bit. We can certainly look at what Putin is doing as wrong and deal with that to stop innocent killing. We are going to need to deal with the why at the same time however if we want true peace though. We need to engage with all areas, not just simplify it to such an an extent to go “he bad man who has done worst thing, must be stopped, ignore the rest”. It won’t serve innocent people well in the future and will just prolong the us/them. It is not irrelevant at all to the issue in any way in my opinion to work out how we stop this happening again. I’m all for sorting this problem out diplomatically speaking quickly so unnecessary deaths can stop. Personally I don’t think starting a long drawn conflict is the way or even likely. However if we are just going to do what we always do and switch off after, and allow the same wrongs to continue and cause the same problems happen again, then we are complicit in future deaths in a way. I’m not saying we can change it all because it’s a bit beyond us as average working men. I will not however be cowered by a regime into thinking what they are doing is ok or justified by provoking another country into doing something we all find **** simply because I find the nasty bit unpalatable. And bombarding all and sundry with it via the media/social media won’t work either. So forgive me if I don’t get behind their phoney causes, and won’t ignore all the other far worse tragedies happening elsewhere with many worse innocent deaths, simply because they’ve whipped up a media frenzy about one such event and want me to focus on that. Not when they are directly and indirectly involved in those deaths. I can’t abide the old “look over there so you don’t look here” trick. I could see this coming, many observers far more versed in this situation than me could. There must be a reason for that - and it certainly isn’t simply because Russia and Putin are a bunch of baddies. To be clear it’s still wrong what’s happening and Putin is still one of these ****s causing problems globally along with those pulling the strings of Biden/Boris etc. He and they can all get ****ed.
