Morning all. A lovely bright morning without any wind, so it feels warmer. The cattle egrets were with the cows when I went to collect some bread this morning. They remove tics and flies from the cows which is good for both of them. They are much shorter than the great egrets that seem to like the company of sheep, so as this is very much a farming area there are plenty of both around. If you are not in a rush there is always something to see. Have a good day everyone.
Afternoon y'all. Just back from the market, today we went seafood crazy. Marlin steaks, dorado steaks, crab meat, salmon, smoked tuna, smoked marlin, 2 rainbow runners, 4 red snappers, 2 mackerel. Nice to hobble about, now time to cook. Lent here is no red meat. Peace to all on Sunday.
Morning all. Another glorious Spring like morning. With the temperature rising daily you can leave the coats and jumpers behind, although it will not stay like this for long. Now able to spend some time down the fields, but it is a case of not overdoing it to start with. A lot of fallen dead branches around that need clearing, but lots of life to be seen. The air is heavy with the scent of violets and there are clouds of blackthorn blossom. Lots of activity overhead from the birds and underground the moles have started digging. All sounds a bit too fishy for me - apart from the crab meat. But I'm now feeling a tad homesick - a USA restaurant chain called Sizzler had branches all around Australia and eating there was our weekly treat when our kids were young - both their crab salad and the cheesy toast were to die for. Sadly, they will have to remain a memory though - all their restaurants closed when the company pulled out of Australia during the early days of Covid. Good to hear you are back on your feet - if not yet able to kick butt.
Everyone thinks a veggie misses bacon sandwiches. I don’t. What I miss is pretty much everything you’ve listed. And mussels - loved them, too.
Morning all. A bit more cloud about today, but no rain is forecast. A day for collecting the debris of winter, leaves, fallen branches etc, and giving a bit of attention to the plants that have been brought under cover as a protection against frost for the past few months. Winter is hopefully finished here now we have turned the calendar into March, but a few times people do get caught out by assuming it is now safe to put plants out. All good business for the garden centres that are able to sell a second lut of plants. Have a good day everyone.
Morning all... tested positive for Covid last night........Just possible I caught it at the Manure game.......Headache, shivers, sore throat and runny nose the current symptoms... Interestingly my wife has similar symptoms but tested negative!

According to the last figures I noticed, approximately 3,000 fans attending Old Trafford could have been carrying the virus. It has been overtaken by other events in the world, but it is still out there and is far from over. Looking around the village there is confusion about out new rubbish collection system. Is it the week for yellow bins or black ones? Actually it is yellow. Some people have put both out so leaving it to the bin men to decide for them. Have a good day all.

Morning all. Mainly sunny and it is expected that the temperature will rise to 16°C this afternoon, which I find is quite acceptable for this time of year. Down by the town hall, church and what once was our shop and bar, is a collection of buildings that was a farm, but have had no known ownership for many years, and are starting to fall down. The council want to restore them, either as gites, or social housing, but the estimated costs are way beyond what sort of grants and money the council has. A nearby council has an entire rural holiday park that they could not sustain so sold it off to a private company. With a grand plan to renovate the holiday park the private company started work, then realised that it was not going to be economic, so pulled out of the scheme. Wooden chalets, social centre and swimming pool are just rotting away, and with the squeeze on finances will just get worse. So what will happen to our farm? It could be attractive if restored, but I do not see where the money will come from. Have a good day everyone.
The joys of sitting with Covid as an aging guy with diabetes.... you just dont know how it will unfold........
Not so bad Mex..... but have been very aware of my symptoms.... I have had younger friends in ICU and others of my age who barely had any symptoms...it feels a flu currently.....
My sister (the nurse) currently has it. Been in bed for 6 days so far. Underlying doodahs include fibromyalgia and associated immune system conditions.
Just goes to show.. you just dont know how it will affect you... a good friend of mine, 43, triple jabbed... spent 3 weeks in ICU with it after Xmas.......
Question moved to the right thread. Mrs Fez and I have made a donation to the humanitarian effort in Ukraine. I feel a bit better for that this evening.
Morning all. Cloudy and damp, but not that cold. When the sky is clear you can see vapour trails going in all directions above us. Sometimes I wonder where they have come from, and what time people must have been at airports to board them. From time to time we have air force fighter jets scream over head at much lower levels. For the past few days it has been the heavy military transporters rumbling across. They also fly at low levels, normally when there is an exercise underway somewhere, but not in the numbers we have seen recently. I wonder what they are moving. Have a good day everyone.
