The forum's favourite Corinthian gets aboard a wonderfully, wonderfully looking homebred of the morrow in the 'lucky last', the concluding contest, in Royal Berkshire (5.05 Newbury) Have a look at the 5YO if you get the chance. Touchy Feely, what a lovely name for a mare by the way. Superbly bred being by Kayf Tara and out of Liberthine - 6 time winner, Topham Chase victor, Grade 3 winner, 5th in a Grand National. Litberthine is also a full-brother to CGC winner, and total legend, Long Run. To date Liberthine has produced a black type performer (Free Thinking) and 2 other winners from 5 foals to have raced. 3 of these offspring ran in bumpers - all won such a contest with 2 out of 3 of them winning on their National Hunt Flat Race bow. Furthermore, she is trained by Lieutenant Henderson who often targets this heat - he's had 4 winners in the past 10 years (including the last 2 renewals). A fascinating contender, of the morrow, and I can't wait to see Touchy Feely and the younger Mr Waley-Cohen debut at Newbury.
Hello, Been a while since I've posted, long covid has had me on my arse for months. Starting to get back in track. One I'm on today and have a fair bit of confidence about is one of my fav small yards, Michael Madgwick. Lingfield 3.55 - Where's Tom 7/1. Hopefully covid hasn't muddled me too much and this one gets in the money. All the best forumites.
Fancy this one myself. Mentioned on here before that i'm a big fan of the jockey. Good luck with the bet. Sorry to hear that you've not been well and am glad to hear that you're bouncing back. All the best.
glad you’re still with us , nasty virus , indiscriminate who gets it bad , and even milder doses have lingering effects , we still don’t know long term implications. Hope your racing antennae aren’t affected and good luck with madgwicks horse , didn’t he have a huge priced winner recently ? iirc ....
Thanks Nass. Been a roller coaster 6 months. Haven't had any interest in racing at all until recently.
Cheers Rudey. Yes, think he scored with his last runner, and this one was entered a week ago or so, so I am hoping he's got this in ready.
I see Muscutts next in the last is attracting some support also, Man on a Mission, so an additional e/w double for me.
Morning, team. A quick note about Hendo horses. Out of his last 14 runners half of them (that's 7 for those poor at sums) have pulled up. Meanwhile, in the Newbury bumper Touchy Feely looks a fair price but, currently, 3 of the front 4 in the market are weak and all the money is for the Twiston-Davies newcomer. Not sure though if this is because this one is, viewed to be, the reincarnation of Pegasus or because the yard had a 17 length bumper winner yesterday eve.
You do have to wonder! Although when I first saw the name was convinced it was owned by the Noel Fehily Racing Club. 'Touchy' Fehily and all that... But no, no, no, no, no. The animal would have been monikered by the elder Mr Waley-Cohen who is one of the greatest people in our sport. One of the best of the best.
Newbury 1.45 Stratton Oakmont Hinted some promise when 4th on handicap debut last time out. Stiffer test today should suit and Thomas Dogdrell is a decent conditional. Worth a small each way bet.
Best of luck today, Leyburnlad19, you deserve it. This Long Covid must be an absolute swine, had a couple of pals who had it. Thank goodness, they too are slowly recovering, but the improvement is oh-so-slow, as you said. I wish you a continued and speedy return back to normal.
