£3Bn - so 10x the value of Newcastle, but only twice the gross revenue? Yeah, good luck with that, Roman.
Be hilarious if he sells it and then the government seize the money! That could be the beginning of the end for Chelsea as no one will pay that and with no money from Abramovic in the next few years they will be in trouble financially if he can't pump money into to keep them afloat. As mentioned previously it could be that selling some stars and the 50 odd loan players they have out will keep them going a while but only for so long...
move seen Chelski fans saying our owners will be kicking themselves that they didn’t wait and buy Chelsea. One of our lads pointed out to them the Investment part of the acronym PIF…
Steep asking price it has to be said. However that's just talk isn't it. Just like that Swiss billionaire putting it out there he's been offered it (he'll be squeaky clean obviously ). All negotiation tactics from all sides. Obviously lots to like on the face of it and they have very recent winning history which brand wise will be attractive to some. They have a 1st class set up and are still one of the top 3 clubs in the country consistently. The PL landscape is changing all the time in terms of competition however... I can't blame him for wanting to move on. He hasn't been back here in ages because of the visa issue, and many hate him just by association. Which is a bit silly but its the modern way to ignore the other evils in favour of the flavour of the month. We know this better than anyone!
Let's not forget that Roman's going to want a lot of his debt repayed. Similar to how NUFC were sold for £300m (£200m market value + £100m debt), Chelski are "worth" around £1.5bn with £1.5bn of debt. So, as has been said, good luck with anyone happy to either pay off that amount of debt or saddle the club with it, Glazier-style. Basically, I think the Chelsea "era" of success will disappear into the distance with Roman. His funding is/was unsustainable and FIFA/UEFA are about to announce new heavy restrictions on the loan system the likes of Chelsea abused so heavily.
Would be interesting to see what he gets. I bet the Man City and our owners will be waiting with bated breath.
Oh this makes me happy. Ridiculous price for sale, but I think he'll just take anything and run tbh. This will see the demise of Chelsea (we can hope anyway).
For the location of the club, aka, deep in London I can see that asking price. I mean they would be ****ing mad to pay it, but I understand why he values it so high. By the sounds of things, 4 very wealthy people are interested. Our owners got an excellent deal for Newcastle Utd tbh.
Watched Kenedy in the first half of their game tonight. He’s dreadful! How the **** he still gets a game is beyond me.
