Yep! That's what I'm saying. He's taken them to this level, they weren't at that level and then brought him in. Thought you were using them as an example of a 'big club' bringing in a perennial relegation battler (which I don't think Moyes is anyway btw).

England produces our fair share of international class players, and a lot of **** ones too.

We also produce our fair share of international class coaches, and a lot of **** ones too....

Aptitude for either role does not necessarily correlate.

Reading have just signed a manager on the basis they're **** and he's the marquee January signings dad.

6 more points out of the last 11 and were comfortably safe. And I think these lads have it in them to take out Brucie's side on Saturday too.

Shota was a ****ing cracking striker mind.

The fox in the box stuff, Frazer, forster, fryatt etc can't lace his boots as a player. With a western European top level career.

Dickheads say he was 'managing in uzbekistan'.

Okay. He was also assistant manager at Ajax.

I think Dyche is more astute than Moyes, just Moyes has the exposure and Gold and Sullivan wouldn't have the nerve to put Dyche in - given at the time they appointed Moyes they got slated.

Moyes had Everton top 4 and maintaining top half finishes long before he went to West Ham. Definitely disagree that Dyche is a better manager.

    *should
Everton had FUNDING. Burnley never had and now they've been subject to a leveraged buyout by an investment company they have even less.

Dyche has always operated at business break-even. Like Grant with us. Just at a world class level which puts him in a higher echelon than most IMHO.

Rooney works a miracle at a basket case.... Huge plaudits.

Dyche does it for half a decade and he's ****.

That's the point I'm respectfully making.

Dyche deserves a good 30 months in a good job and well see who's boss.

Problem is he won't get the job or the time.

Graham Potter formerly of Hull Uni, is doing a top job at Brighton with a bang average squad. Could easily do wonders with top players and think he will get a big move soon.

I don't recall Everton having significant funding under Moyes, but I was quite young so could be wrong on that.

    Good shout.

    Really good shout.

McCann will do alright for himself too if he can get his media sorted.
Sure radio Cambridgeshire will be nice to him...

He'll have to create his 'us vs them' squad mentality a different way under MacAnthony.

Potter was courted by Spurs last summer before they settled on Nuno, it's no secret he'll end up at a big club once he feels he can't take Brighton any further. His form at Brighton recently suggests he won't last too long at a bigger club if he has similar dips in form.

They had consistent funding. Not spectacular but by no means 'break even'.

I still think that they significantly over-performed the level of funding they had, which was more my point. Anyway, I don't think Dyche will get a chance at a big club so it's a bit moot.

Yeah. It's probably why we don't have a set hierarchy in English football it's the ability to supply a general squad investment year on year that makes the difference at any given level and provide stability.
That's why at the very top level we talk about 'eras', historically at least.

Our new owners very sensibly kept Daws, Pennock and Baz on the coaching side and Darno on the domestic recruitment.

It's also the reason we want KLP, Greaves and Gorgeous George to commit their future.

... With maybe a few nuggets of Turkish delight for next season.

He's had opportunities to move and hasn't. Think he was linked to the Everton job as well as a few others from memory. If Burnley go down he may well move, like Howe eventually did, but Howe has gone to Newcastle who were rooted to the bottom.

Now there seems a better than evens chance l**d's migh finish below Dyche and Howe.

Gutted for them. They were so confident last season that Bielsa would win them trophies....

    Bless.

    No miracle going on there.
Without the points deduction, they would be 16th.
Rooney has continued to have some very good players available to him (less since January), and a very good mix of experience & youth.
Mid-table would probably be just about right.
Acknowledgement that he and the players have had to work against an unstable, distracting background. Not alone in that, just somewhat deeper.
p.s. come on Burnley. Chance to go ahead of Leeds tonight.
