That doesn't surprise me. Ordinary Russians don't want a war with their brothers and sisters. It's like England invading Scotland, the two nations are entwinned with each other, sharing a culture, history and family ties.

These lads are just pawns in Putin's war games.

    More here.

'We were told we were on exercises'

'They didn't tell us what our objectives were'

'We were woken at 5am and told to get into convoy, we didn't know what was happening'

'We don't want to be here. We don't want any war with Ukraine

I look at it like this mate...

IF he did press the button, it will not be just the Ukraines or whoever he targets with his nuke, it will also have the potential to destroy the world economy, that will drag every country financially into the conflict, because without an economy, the world can't function. Look at Afghanistan as an example.

We are already going to have food price increases as a result of the attack on Ukraine, interest rates in Russia have gone from 9.5% to 20%, they've self destructed their own economy through this senseless invasion, that will now have consequences on their population.

I'd say China's exports are around 2.5-3 trillion dollars to the world, quote from google:

Is China the world's top trader?

China has been the largest exporter of goods in the world since 2009. 1 Official estimates suggest the country's total exports amounted to $2.641 trillion in 2019. 2 In 2013, China became the largest trading nation in the world. 1 The United States previously held that position.

China has to think very carefully about what it does, personally I think it would be mad for them not to give Putin a little slap and put him on the naughty step, because in the world, as we all know, money and trade talks.

I just hope this prediction is better than my football predictions, otherwise we are all fooked.

I was watching a documentary last night on the what will be banned RT, and it was claimed that when Biden was Vice President under Obama, he propped up the failing Ukraine economy with $1 Billion dollars, however, there was a condition to it, that someone in power had to be removed. Biden was laughed at, and told it wasn't happening, and that they would bypass Biden, and speak to the President themselves, to which Biden responded, I am the only negotiator, but by all means check with the President if you don't believe me. I've not fact checked any of this.

It went in to some much heavier stuff, that I'm not going to repeat on here, but if true, would support Putin's claims regarding certain groups in the area. There was also claims against Biden's son, Hunter. At the time I believe the country was going through transition of who to trade with, ie Europe or Russia, it seems lots of persuasive tactics were used, but that's not saying that the Russians didn't apply the same tactics, after all, they are not going to admit to anything underhand.

It's sometimes knowing who to believe in these propaganda wars. Albeit it changes nothing imho, the invader is Russia, and they need to remove themselves from the Ukraine, then and only then, should a proper exchange of words and claims be made. Not that it will change anything, the Ukranian people appear to have decided which side of the fence they want to be on but as always with Europe/NATO and the Americans it all leaves a very unsavoury taste.

If I were to make one observation, that would be to remove Truss from her role in the British Government, it appears/claimed it was her comments, that led to Putin putting his Nukes on high alert. So in my mind, we can stick with the tough rhetoric, or appease him in a show of saying we accept her comments regarding NATO's status in this towards Russia were misplaced. We all know that will not happen though.
