Watched the video in full and he makes some good and bad observations.

Some of you have mentioned the travel problem moving the stadium would create and that is a huge issue.

But the economic impact of moving the stadium out of the city would be devastating for a lot of local businesses and this is the reason why I think the stadium has to stay central.

    You heard it here 1st

This guy tyneside life was not only completely wrong, but also spent a great deal of time looking at sites to build on.

The new owners are definitely not going to move stadiums, instead they are looking to expand St James Park to between 60,000 and 65,000 capacity.

Speaking to the Athletic in the first post-takeover interview, Mehrdad Ghodoussi said:

"We will definitely look at expanding it.

"We're working with the city and council to see what we can do.

"There are a lot of things that need to happen first, but that’s the way forward.

"If we can get it to 60 or 65,000 thousand, amazing, and we will look at every possibility.

"But are we going to build a new stadium? No. It would be like tearing your soul out."

So it's essentially going to be a case of finding a clever of architect to somehow find a way to increase capacity to 60-65k. Good stuff.

60k is achieved just adding the tier to the Gallowgate. Safe standing could take the number then to about 65k. Seems there’s total resignation over the East Stand, they’ll probably just do work to make it look more modern and imposing, fancy fascia’s or whatever. ****ing exciting though.

Looking forward to news bars/shops and **** along the side. Exciting teams brah.

I hope they find a way to add new screens to the stadium.

Maybe one day ST James will host boxing matches.

Spurs stadium is definitely the best stadium I've ever been to. Went for the Joshua Usyk fight. Was incredible.

They can't add a tier to the Gallowgate as that was the plan which utilised Strawberry Place which Ashley then sold off to trouser some pocket money for himself, each time you go up higher you have to increase the footprint of the stadium to support the vertical increase.

The safe standing I have seen is still 1 person to 1 seat.

It's all going to come down to the administrators in the first place as they will at some point sell off Strawberry Place to realise the asset value and pay creditors, hopefully they will offer it to the club and if a deal is done then the city council will allow a variance of the planning permission.
