Similar really, they can't see everything, sometimes they will get it wrong, it is what it is. Now they can see everything, multiple times if they want and they still get it wrong. Yeah I can half understand the ref not giving it in the pitch. He was behind another city player and on the wrong side of the arm that came out so would have been tough to see. This is where the ‘not clear an obvious’ is an issue. Because the var may say oh ref didn’t think it was a pen cos he thought hit high up on the arm etc. but truth is the ref probably didn’t give it because he couldn’t see properly. The clear and obvious is fine for those that the ref sees and either does or doesn’t give a decision for, but when ref has clearly missed something, question should just would I give this as a pen or not.
This is where the English arrogance is the issue. They don't want to go to the screen and they do not want to be seen then to not over turn. In Europe, no issue. Its there to help and they take the help. They do not like being told they are not right. If that was simply reviewed on the sideline and the ref himself didn't give it we would at least be able to get rid of this bent ref. Now he has the cover that it was var's fault.
You do get the feeling "clear and obvious" has been inserted to basically protect their own arse. I fully agree, the ref couldn't see the handball, he was behind two players and from his angle it was very difficult to give. But this is surely what var is for? I watch a resonable amount of foreign football, Yes they have issues, but its just not to the same extent that we have. For a start it's hardly ever mentioned, it tends to quitely tick away in the back ground until really needed.

Personally, I think Zouma should be sent to the front line for Ukraine to help defend it from Putin. Take Ronaldo, Johnson, and all the sex criminal footballers with him too... And Jose Mourinho. And Pulls, and Steve Bruce. Between the three of them they should be able to park the bus and help hold the defensive line for Ukraine.

Just as a quick note. I dont feel sorry for Russians at all. Thr minor level of protest seem indicates there's more than enough backing for Vlad the impaler. when they are in the streets marching on the kermlin and putin is escaping on a plane to Belarus I might feel sympathy.
