He's been ****ing immense. Way better than expected. Guaranteed he gets another full year minimum, but I can see him doing better than that. Factor in we should've beaten both Watford and West Ham, it could've been 6 wins. Immense turnaround. We didn't have the immediate bounce, but the effect of a competent manager has been incredible. Hats off to that guy.
Must admit I thought he would struggle , I thought him and the cherries just “ worked “ . I was wrong .
Was good to hear on MOTD last night Shearer giving EH praise for turning around the performances of some of our players. He knows it and acknowledged it.
Bodes well for the summer window too….players who won’t know who Eddie is can look at Joelinton, Fraser, Shelvey and see how he improves players. Makes a difference when attracting good players
I think we’ve picked an absolute winner here. He’s blasted any reservations out of the water. Speaks so well, seems to be a very modern student of the game, has instilled a style that’s been missing for so long and did it without fuss. Made a complete mockery of Rafas short blanket and Bruce’s rolling of sleeves. All whilst wasting £25m on the worst striker since Kuqi.
I think EH's a master of the science of football. The fact that he can clearly teach this to his players is the acid test of managerial competence and true understanding of the game and people management. Rafa was exactly what we needed under Ashley, and performed very well in that role. But we need another specialist at this moment, and in EH I believe this is what we've got. We're not going to agree about the merits of Chris Wood. He was acquired without any fuss at a desperate moment. But if you look at Joelinton's goal, and look at what CW was doing in the box - it gave Joelinton the space and freedom to have an unhindered free header, which he executed perfectly. This is evidence that CW has his uses, but I hope he can relax a bit, and take a chance on his own. He might score more after he's up and running.
