I haven't read this entire thread yet, so I may be repeating other comments, but the 'drop in form' for Livramento and Broja may be deliberately self-inflicted, to make them appear less attractive to other PL teams, and to reduce their value to their 'home' club (both Chelsea, I think). This is clearly a 'come and get me' plea (OK, a 'can I stay, please?' plea) to Ralph. I think that Tino and Armando (I still like calling him 'Ourmando') want to be here, and our success is the icing on the cake.

Yes, I know that football doesn't work like that, but I can wear my Red & White glasses and dream, can't I?

I've been reliably informed that aliens built the Pyramids and the moon landing was faked.

I’m not sure about this talk of Tino’s drop in form. I thought he was superb yesterday

It occurs to me that the dearth of comments/banter/insights on this particular thread, at least before Adams scored, may be symptomatic of us Saints fans starting to feel confident about our team being quite good really. We need to watch out, or we'll start to feel entitled!

There's plenty of seasoned Saints supporters on here familier with coming down to Earth with a bump.

And even if Chelsea decided to sell Broja, there are several clubs who would offer a much higher fee and higher wages than we could even afford, let alone be prepared to pay. Let's just enjoy him for this season.

A couple of other random observations from yesterday...

Firstly, little has been mentioned about how many clinical crosses KWP put in with his left foot. He can now cut in or push on to the by line with equal impact.

Secondly, listening to Solent on the way home, Adam B made a comment about not wanting to get into the Europa League as it would ruin our season with meaningless trips for a Mickey Mouse tournament. Sorry but European football will attract better players and now we have depth in the squad, we can rotate without adversely affecting our league performances. And more people get regular train time. Or am I missing something?

Also, those new digital screens above the tunnel and below the directors box.... They scroll in the opposite direction to the pitch side screens. Please! It's doing my head in...

European football, whilst being a long shot, would make us more appealing to young promising players as there will be more games on offer and paying fees and wages for young promising players is a far more sensible way of padding the squad

My memory of the conversation was that he said he’d rather Saints finish 9th, than 7th and as a result having to play in the Europa conference league. Qualifying for the Europa League is pretty much the pinnacle of what we can achieve other then a cup win. Whereas the conference league had basically no prestige.

Broja is cited as claiming he wanted Saints to be safe from relegation before considering his future with us. I think it's the league position -associated with Europa League/Conference tiers - that can really help attract players, rather than the competitions themselves

Players want to be in teams that can have a good crack at globally renown clubs like United, City, Spurs, M,City, Chelsea and Liverpool every other week, rather than some games versus the likes of Vitese, Midgtland or Poznan. Our players from abroad will probably come from the types of clubs you would find in the Europa League and Conference; its competing in the PL which is the star attraction for players that come to England.

The Europa comps are great for fans of clubs like ours, though.
