In a way I respect the way we persist playing attacking football. I get it. When it works it is beautiful to watch. However, when teams counter it the way they have over the last two months you've got to adapt. If your players don't have the quality to compete with their opposite number you've got to adapt. When you lose the spine of your team you've got to consider your options in a transfer window. I love Bielsa and what he has done for this club. I just feel he is unwilling to change his system or players and that effects the clubs future. I'd much prefer to bin the players as they have let the man down massively this season but the point of this post is what can be done right now. We can't change playing staff. We can't carry on like this as the players just aren't performing. The ONLY change is the coaching staff. I hate to say it but if the club is to stay up this season then the change needs to be made and it needs to be made now, in the next hour, not next week....now.
Fly him in tonight. Let him manage alongside Bielsa till the season ends, and irrespective of what happens then let Bielsa leave with our thanks and best wishes.
Think we need to stick to our principles of what got us in this position, hope we get some results to keep us up and then a massive investment needed in the summer. If we sack Bielsa we’re almost certainly down.
He had a 5 game run at the end of last season where I thought he looked a player. That's it...that's all he's given us imo. That's our issue. We have too many players that have moments of good play but are ****e the rest of the time and when the team is full of those players then thats what you get. Harrison, James, Klich, Rodrigo, Llorente, Koch, Ayling have all had their moments this season but have been more miss than hit. The more consistent performers have been Meslier, Struijk, Dallas. That's it and I'm being kind to Dallas who was **** at the start of the season. The rest have either been completely ****e or haven't played because of injury. It's too harsh to lay the blame on the kids.
