It got on BBC newsbeat at 5:45pm yesterday that he was at the ground. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b016479c listen from 1hr 57m
I didn't go to the game but watched it on Sky and it was probably the best 'target man' display I have ever seen at this level of football. I have seen his many a time since and he's been ****e
Yeah, so not really fair to include him since he was never going to be there any serious length of time.
Well, it was going to take exception circumstances to see us drop to the third tier. By the way, what's the fourth tier like?
I'm not too sure about that one you know. Top did an interview with SSN and was asked whether the manager needed to be well-known and, with a vigorous shake of the head, he said something along the lines of: "All I want is a manger to take us to the Premier League, whatever his name. In Thailand, if Leicester are winning, people will be happy, no matter what the name of the manager is" Encouraging words and would suggest he's learnt from his Sven appointment. It's a shame Clark's ruled himself out but I think Robinson would be worth considering and he has been linked today. To the person who was asking about our young players, the outstanding one is the previously mentioned Jeff Schlupp who has been linked with yourselves, Stoke and Liverpool. In previous years we've had Andy King now in our team, Stearman at Wolves and Gradel at St Etienne and formely of Leeds. But other than that not may which, given our academy constantly do well in their PL academy league, is a little disappointing. The next one would appear to be young 17 year old left back/centre back George Taft who, this summer played for England U17's in the Euro and World Championships, the U19 in their Euro qualification and for the U20's in the World Cup.
Not bad entertainment-wise if you're doing well, but all-in-all it has to be said that the football's ****. Why do you ask, Harriet?
Because it's something we never have, and never will, experience. Didn't you nearly drop out of the football on a few occasions? And is there more racism in the lower leagues?
"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall" - Are you sure you won't experience it? I doubt that five years ago, when Luton were serious promotion-contenders in the Championship and chasing the Premier League dream, they would have expected to be playing Braintree Town in a non-league game within a matter of years. But they are. It's a funny old game, after all. Once. We staged the ultimate 'Great Escape' in the mid-90's, yes, though there were 'exceptional circumstances'. We have, however, returned to what is historically 'our level' now though. I'm happy enough with that, though that's not to say I wouldn't mind another promotion to the Premier League! Not really, there's fewer black players to abuse.
You can't compare tiny Luton to Leicester. They're more similar to Hull. We, by exceptional circumstances as you pointed out, have been in the third tier once - and absolutely romped it. In nearly 130 years, we've never been in the bottom half of the third tier, let alone the fourth! This isn't your level historically. I associate you more with the third tier.
We know the perils of this kind of running of a football club. Its just money men who don't understand football. Leicester and Forest should not be in the **** they are but neither clubs board has the patience to give stability to allow progress, Feel sorry for their fans.
Of course I can and no they're not. If clubs the size of Manchester City and Leeds United can end up in the 3rd Division, you can easily end up in the 4th at some point in the future. It's not going to happen in the next decade, or the next twenty years in my opinion. But regarding events in 50 or 60 years, can you honestly say that you'll never have been a 4th Division club? 1) I don't think the 'exceptional circumstances' that you claim are at all comparable. Please learn a little about football before you embarrass yourself further, as you look like a complete moron; 2) Congratulations, you won the 3rd tier with a budget most top Championship sides would have envied. And? That's all well and good, darling, but the fact that we've spent more of our history in the second tier than all others combined suggests otherwise.
You don't know what went off during 2007/08 at our club and I'm certainly not going to waste time explaining it to you. We actually lost a lot of our best players when we were relegated and relied in on young players like King and flops like Fryatt. And besides, as you can see from us this season, being the richest club doesn't mean you have the best team.
I probably know as much as you. Are you aware of what we went through in the mid-90's? I doubt it, otherwise you wouldn't be trying to draw the comparison between the respective situations. Yes, Fryatt was obviously a flop, hence why he scored 30+ goals. And what's that about money not meaning you have the best team? Perhaps not in the Premier League or Championship, fair enough. BUT, when you've got a budget like you had and you're competing against Leyton Orient, Southend, Hereford, Stockport, Cheltenham and no doubt some other similar clubs I can't remember off the top of my head, it's not really worth debating the matter.
Fryatt was a flop...until we went down to League One. Must I do all the thinking for you? My whole point was players like him and Howard weren't up to much, until Pearson turned them into decent players. And we're competing against the likes of Hull and Blackpool now, but we're not running away with the league. And Leeds were in League One too, and couldn't touch us.
I suggest you think this point over, and consider its relevance to your previous posts. Maybe then you will understand why exactly I 'laughed out loud' when I read it. I suggest you start with yourself, you're clearly struggling. You are a very dumb boy. 1) 2) Competing against Hull and Blackpool? I'm not really sure what that means. Maybe you will have to think for me after all. 3) I did say in my previous post, if you actually read it, that money is less likely to get success in the Premier League or Championship than League One. 4) What has the fact that Leeds were in League One got to do with anything I have said? You are a dunce.
This is the last time I'm going to reply to you, since you're a complete t***. We didn't buy our way out of League One. In fact, most of the players we relied on were untested or hadn't cut it previously. We got out with good management and coaching. I mentioned Leeds, because you stupidly made it look like we were competing again teams that were actually at the other end of the table. History shows that teams with money can prosper in any league, provided they're well managed. I mentioned Hull and Blackpool because they are the same size as clubs that we beat week in week out in League One.
Thank you. Good management of course played a big part, but the rest of that post? Bullshit. You are truly thick in the head. Other than Leeds, who at that level could have competed with you financially you moron? What a bizarre thing to say. I haven't said otherwise. In fact, It's me stressing that point that seems to be most upsetting you.
