Ultimately surely Putin wants to overthrow the government and put in a puppet president?

 

Strange that on BBC they talk about a power station on the left bank of the River Dnieper yet keep pointing to a power station clearly on the right bank.

 

I'm not sure what his end goal is. I'm sure he'd be happy with a regime change, but the game plan being played out was never going to achieve that.

If Nato carried on ignoring Russia and signed up Ukraine then Russia end up with missile bases on their border.

Russian backed separatists have been fighting the Ukrainian army in Donetsk and Lugansk for years. So Vlad has sent in 150,000 “peacekeeping” troops.

I notice that this morning even the BBC is starting to cotton on to Putin’s real objective. He wants to get rid of the current Ukrainian leader and replace him with a Moscow puppet. On the BBC News they showed footage of Putin making a broadcast to Ukrainians calling on their military to overthrow their ‘Nazi’ President. They need to replace Zelensky with a proper authoritarian who does what Putin says.

Putin knows that he can afford a short ‘war’ in the region as the toothless West waste their time with sanctions and diplomacy.

When a pointless motion to censure Russia was put before the hopeless United Nations’ Security Council, it was a total surprise that Russia vetoed it. Almost as surprising was the list of interested party nations that abstained in the vote.

It must be generally accepted by now that Putin is bonkers. That was why the authoritarian got on so well with Trump.
