Cant see past a win for them on recent performances, we all live in hope of a win but i saw nothing in the last game that could inspire confidence of a win, so maybe a lucky deflection will wln the day for us. Thanks for the Thread RTB looks like you put more effort into this than the team

They're on a good run, were playing sh1te so this is nailed on for an away win.
The Doctor insists that I keep taking these tablets but I'm still a bit delusional so don't think they're working.<laugh>

Wigan only drew at home to Oxford, earlier this month, with two or three shots on target. They're not going to sit back against us and we shouldn't either. We should go for the win, sitting back defending is depressing and the support deserves better. I remember going to Wigan, when they were expecting to win, and Marcus Stewart scored in the first few minutes. It was a long 90 minutes but I'd happily suffer it all again tomorrow. We have a striker who can score against anyone, it only takes on goal to win a game as Marcus proved.

Great thread again RTB <applause> and I go along with your team , hope AN thinks along the same lines as the majority of supporters, as that's what I'm looking for more than anything, that he, is learning from his mistakes rather than repeating them, like the previous incumbent kept doing. Some grit and determination from the team would not go amiss either, OaU.

AN seemed pretty pissed off in his press conference.
Or perhaps that’s just his normal sunny dispisition.

I haven't seen Hume in person yet, I was under the impression that in the games he has played in he not only did alright but was one of our better players? Can anyone confirm?

Neil's talking about him like he's only just hatched from the egg, saying he'll need to be gradually introduced as if those games never happened. Sick of seeing players out of position that don't need to be.

I'm being to think its just a Sunderland curse, like the mummy one, but only affecting our managers as a get out clause excuse, or to appease Speakman take your pick

Hume has been fine and to be honest offers more of an actual right back looked more consistent than Winchester going forward.

Not sure bout AN comments there at all

Honestly, what is the point in keeping Xhemajli on the books? He's never going to get used and you know they will put O'Nien at CB ahead of him if the need arises. Shame for the lad but he's not getting any game time here - when was the last time he even played for the u23s?

Been missing for the last 3 or 4 games at least I think. Looks like he will be away at the end of the season as well.

He has been absolutely fine in the games I've seen him play. Hope he plays Saturday and Winnie goes into midfield.

Well it would be foolhardy to give him a new contract if he's not up to L1 football. I hope he manages to find a career elsewhere

I hope Neil can forge together a team with some grit and steel to give Wigan a game.

Stewart, Clarke and Pritchard look like the best attacking men at the moment. Can we fit Clarke and Pritchard into a balanced line-up?

    Cheers RTB as always.

Your team looks good to me. Certainly Winchester and Matete need to be in midfield to give us some legs and some aggression. Baath needs to get out and play so Doyle can get a breather (actually felt sorry for him the other night as we know how much better he is than that). Clarke has to start as well (cant really understand why he didnt the other night). One half of my head is thinking ahead to next season already and I want to see Hume and Patterson playing now so they are ready for next year. Cirkin looks like he needs taking out of the firing line so I would perhaps ask Gooch to take one for the team and play there Saturday and get Dajaku in. His and Clarkes pace could be interesting to watch, particularly if Neil continues to play direct.

Wigan are in good form, and look a team to me that knows how to do the job, whatever the game. It will take a big upturn in performance after the other night from us, but as the saying goes, its a funny old game...
