    Does Russia's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine affect our Normann loan/potential to buy? Not only is the city very close to the Ukrainian boarder, but if Western money isn't allowed into Russia can we even buy him if we wanted to? Depending on what sanctions are here I could understand him not wanting to go back, but I expect that the conflict will be short.

    Conflict short, sanctions long, but I don’t think any of the Russian football clubs will be sanctioned - their only issue is if they have just sanctioned Russian bank accounts.

    A fully fit Normann could be a help.

    A fully fit fired up Normann is our best chance of survival (and Pukki finding those shooting boots)

    The situation we face is obvious. We have got to get more points than 3 other Clubs and only have 13 games to do it. Based on what normally happens we need at least another 17 points - as many as we have already got in twice the number of games. On current improved form we should get to 29 points - nowhere near enough. We need to improve that by 50%. If we manage to draw 2 games we need to win another 5 which is more than we have managed to do in twice as many games. With 6 defeats we would have a loss rate of less than 50% - so far we have lost 16 in 26. I can see arguments that we could get above Watford but what other two Clubs won't get to 33 points especially bearing in mind recent improvements in their form and squads? Burnley( need 14 points from 15 games ) Newcastle ( 11 from 14 ) Everton ( 11 from 15 ) Leeds ( 10 from 13 ) or Brentford ( 9 from 12 ). I am convinced that the Club accepted relegation as a certainty when DF left and Smith was appointed with the task of another promotion from the Championship next season in mind. As fans we have to live in hope but everything else indicates that we will be relegated.

    Quite simple. He is here, he stays here, we are not paying you a rouble and your Club, along with the rest of your Nation, can f*** off !!!!

    Never been to St Mary's but I did go to the Dell once, 0 - 0 draw in the FA Cup.
    They had such luminaries as Shearer, Flowers and Hurlock playing for them.
    Long drive home via a pizza in Winchester.

    No. I'm a little let down every time he's in the starting line-up. The way we play probably doesn't help him because we don't give our players much chance to be creative when we get the ball in our half, other than to look to make a medium-long pass up the pitch. And he really needs to bulk up some.

    @Walsh.i.am:

    Since the atmosphere on this site has got a bit heated over the last few days, I just want to make clear that my post about Winchester above was not a lame joke at your expense, but at Winchester's.

    Not by a lot of our supporters that I have known over the years. A joy to watch him in action, especially with Supermac feeding off his creativity.

    Head coach Marcelo Bielsa has been sacked by Leeds United after a run of poor form that saw his side suffer several heavy defeats.

    The 66-year-old Argentine, appointed in June 2018, leaves with the Whites two points above the relegation zone.

    Under Bielsa, Leeds finished ninth last season on their return to the Premier League after a 16-year absence.

    But Saturday's 4-0 defeat by Tottenham meant they had lost their past four games by an aggregate score of 17-2.

    It will be interesting to see if they get a new manager bounce (hopefully not if we are to stand any chance)
