We have had two class managers this season who seem unable to get a group of pretty decent players to perform. what can they do?
Why didn't we play as well as we did on Saturday? I think that was down to the opposition who didn't allow us to get a grip in midfield tonight.
Well less about that the better ! Their goalie didn’t have a save to make . Sarr literally straight down the tunnel about 2 seconds after the final whistle And Burnley won.
Just standard Watford . Always seems to be we win well then next game is rubbish . Worry is Roy thinks we did ok and were unlucky .
We were unlucky for the first goal, bad marking for the second, Dennis had chance he would have taken earlier in the season but still in the game until we just seemed to give up with 10 minutes go and then Zaha scored two which made it even worse Need a clear out in the summer and bring in some young fit and hungry players and if it takes 2 or 3 years to go back up, so be it The owners need to to plan for the future like they did 10 years ago and make sure the next manager is the right one
Home, fed, watered. Depressed. Thoroughly dejected after that abysmal offering. Not the worst I've seen us play but it's not too far short, certainly in the Pozzo era.You can't set a team up like that for a home match and expect to get a damned thing out of it. The result reflected the second half lack of application to the task in hand and lack of appreciation for the situation we're in, and an unflinching ability to shoot ourselves in the foot. Can't win wars with mercenaries. Topple or prop up the odd despot here and there, but not win wars.
Not as much as it hurt me to watch it and write it! What's even more annoying is that we were in the ascendancy when one of their players went down after half an hour or so in the first half causing a long break in play. The Vic was rockin' and the Horn's were threatening to turn the game over and then the impetus up and vanished like a fart in the wind. Back to playing across the back, sitting deep, just waiting for mistakes to be made: the outcome was inevitable, a nervousness in the stands permeating to the players - or vice-versa. I was off as soon as the 4th went in.
Roy doesn’t seem to know what to do - not very inspiring ! I mean it’s a worry we go from a good solid display v Villa to that . Did we gain no confidence or morale from those 3 points. Almost a fluke then ?
