They should just remove the automatic veto rights of the 5 permanent members of the Security Council - its ridiculous that 5 countries have that just because they won a World War once. It just means that whenever any of those 5 countries do anything wrong they can veto any resolution of the Council. Its almost as corrupt as the Premier League.

The only way to make 'those ****ers' feel the pain is by putting an embargo on Russian oil and gas but that would inevitably raise prices globally as I don't think OPEC could take up the slack for long. Also China won't go along with an embargo as they are a major importer from Russia and they have expressed their support for Russia over Ukraine already so wouldn't comply with any embargo. Oil and gas prices are controlled by supply vs demand. Countries will now be starting to try and stockpile, which will force up prices anyway, so good to know you are happy to pay more.

I think just moving the Champions League final from St Petersburg to London is the best solution. I see that our government has already said that if it is held in Russia that our teams should boycott it so I am now hoping that Liverpool qualify.

No it isn't better. But I do agree with Albert that we need to make life as difficult as possible for the Russians and go all in with sanctions. We can't just sit back and do nothing, and we can't let anyone think it is ok to just violate international law and think that nothing will happen. There are 44 million people in Ukraine who's lives are going to be turned upside down by this.

 

The west has been blowing people up for oil for decades. We can't sit there talking about bullying with a straight face surely?

One country has to yield that's just simple facts
