The Royal Navy are in Stavanger this week, I think the majority of the defence budget goes on repairing the **** they break. Absolute ****ing morons in honesty.
"I support the proposal of the Donetsk Peoples Republic and Luhansk People's Republic into the Russian Federation." Er what Sergei? You can feel the anxiety through your speakers.
Can't believe what I'm hearing this morning in the commons. Starmer is telling Boris to review with ofcom, regarding Putin being allowed broadcasts into this country, now unless I've heard it wrong, that's the last thing I would want, people have to be allowed to make informed decisions, you can't do that if you prevent one side from broadcasting. I get why it was done with Trump on social media, but even he was allowed airtime on National TV, and I've not heard Putin say anything that is of similar magnitude. Putin seeks devision the same as Trump, but the latter was more domestic than world politics. Don't get me wrong, Putin is out to cause trouble, that I'm not denying. Anyway Boris' reply was, that's the sort of thing Russia does (restricting speech), and I agree with him. Edit: Just seen the request to restrict was to review the licence of Kremlin backed TV channel RT. None the less I do not agree with this request.
I agree with this. In a democratic and free society we can't be restricting speech that we might not agree with. Starmer is worrying me, he also said not long ago that we aren't being tough enough with Russia. The guy needs to keep his mouth shut.
I'll welcome them with a cup of tea, I might even throw in a few cookies, they aint having my Jaffa's though, no siree.
the government have already set a precedent on this. The banned a state chinese news channel in the UK https://pressgazette.co.uk/chinese-state-backed-channel-cgtn-banned-from-broadcasting-in-uk/
Cheers Bobby, I didn't know this. I've also heard since it be said, that we need to be careful, because if we ban RT, then Russia could respond by banning the BBC - so the same tit for tat that you've linked regarding China. My problem with all these bans is, when it comes to the crunch, I'm always going to fall on the side of British troops and British leaders, because it's what I am, British, but that don't mean we shouldn't have the means (information) to challenge our own thoughts, armies and leaders. If we embark on this route of banning, then I might as well go live in North Korea and get my one sided information.
Nah, it’s good. Got loads of beetroot off the allotment last year, so have been refining my borscht technique. Top tip - add a bit of bacon to give it a lift.
yea thats never going to happen. You reach the CL final with a chance of glory and you decide to boycott it. no chance.
