Imagine sitting in the stand all game watching your teammates be utter **** and then doing that when you get the chance to come on..
I don’t even know why I’m surprised this was always going to happen. No away win in how long. Guess we owe them that after they ended our streak in 17/18.
I know a lot of people defended him recently but he really hasn't got the quality he might be able to run all day but that's about it
I don’t think booing will help anything at all and dampens an otherwise optimistic atmosphere since the takeover. That being said, that was utterly turgid. Don’t have my hopes up for Posh away because it looks like we have no fit centre-forward bar Smith. Wilks, Eaves and Allahyar can’t come back from injury soon enough and I’d love an update on the latter as we’ve seen about half an hour’s football from him and his signing came with a lot of enthusiasm.
I really, really want Docherty to improve. I like the guy a lot. His work-rate and engine is incredible. But if he doesn’t improve the technical side of his game like passing, ball control, vision, awareness i.e. the bread and butter of a good box-to-box midfielder, he may as well be running marathons for a living instead of playing Championship football.
A mate took my lad for me, so he didn’t miss another game. I have to say I felt a little bit smug whe he dropped him off
Some of this arrogance seemed to rub off on the players as they seemed to turn up as if it was going to be a walk in the park.
Truth is, you can win stuff with kids if you also have Peter Schmeichel, Steve Bruce, Dennis Irwin, Gary Pallister, Brian McClair, Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Mark Hughes and Paul Ince in the team. Where's our equivalents?
Don’t even know where we go from here. Shota struggling but if Acun sacks him soon, we’ll look like a basket case already. Just got to hope we’ve got enough draws left in us. Then hopefully decisions can be made in the right division.
Every player turned up as if they assumed that a player other than them was going to do the work needed to get a result. …maybe harsh but we were so static, it was like no one wanted the ball
The most annoying thing for me tonight was how much of a wasted opportunity it was. The potential for this club is there for all to see but performances like that won’t help us. The performance itself was weird, players just failing to do the basics, passing, first touch, even just standing on the ball unchallenged. Hopefully get a reaction on Saturday
This. Every time Barnsley lost the ball, we punted it straight back to them. I can’t imagine being a professional footballer in England’s second division and booting the ball straight back to the opposition from my own half right after winning it back (in the opening 20 minutes as well, mind you). City played tonight as if the ball had Semtex in it.
Burnsy does these funny surface level tweets where he basically says "The worst case scenario would be REALLY BAD, but it won't happen, will it?" Always reads funny in hindsight as if he's conjuring it into being.
We haven’t but then we aren’t asking our mob to win anything other than the odd game and maybe create a chance or 2.
