Even if happens, which is a bit unlikely, the matter still hangs in the air. For one thing, if Neil manages that, he might well be tempted by a better deal somewhere than a rolling one year agreement, which is really just a see how you go mate thing, with an agreed pay off. Speakman is a chancer and a (bad) patter merchant, and although all the stories about players really disliking might be just that, stories, I can't remember any player, or Johnson when he was here, singing his praises.
Look at where we are.......... To ask questions of anybody involved in our being here is no witch hunt. It's common sense.
Not sure this is any witch hunt at all. This bloke has been a long way from shy in putting himself forward. He appears to enjoy leaving the impression he has a lot of influence, and he clearly does. The team is needlessly and wildly out of balance. Everyone who watches knows this and has done for a good while. But everything he says revolves around process, plan, project and other nebulous and elastic terms, which are pretty handy to hide behind. He's in the wrong job and he's a problem.
Just out of interest, who else is there for the DoF/Sporting Director role that we could get? I genuinely have no idea who our options would be as a replacement for Speakman. Would KLD go abroad? Maybe someone from France perhaps?
I wouldn't have a clue, and clearly KLD took some advice on the matter, and it was not the best. But it is more the rigid approach that is the problem foe me. A plan is fine, but the first team must come first at all times. The plan can move along with the team and around it, supporting it along the way.
I wonder if KLD is putting the feelers out ready for the summer. I couldn't even suggest a name for that role tbh if he replaces Speakman I think he will look abroad though.
with KLD fathers and family contacts in the field of DOF I'm sure it wouldn't be to hard for him to get in someone perfect , however i think the other clowns pretending to be share holders are pulling him back from investment, who knows the full story but if i were in his shoes i wouldn't be splashing out, if they are not interested in matching unless i had bought them out, if they are not putting in their fair share.
Then he needs to hurry up with his game of chess against twit and twat and get a Checkmate asap. Then put 'his' plan fully into effect. I'm still surprised if they can say 'no' to any sort of pro rata investment though. Surely that's the deal? Match KLDs investment or they are out of the game.
not sure on the law about that if they refuse to put up, but I'm sure there will be at least one of our supporters on here who could give us some guidance and insight into the pros and cons
Something else that isn't known. It looks as if the others are paying pro rata as they have said so. But as just a guess, it could be that the total of any new spend needs agreement , and in the case of two of them at least, that will be as low as they can keep it
I'm the same mate, not a clue about how it all works legally. From what we have heard from Steve Davison recently, KLD makes the decisions, therefore I would expect the others to put up or get the **** out of town. Hopefully he can get them out asap.
which is why we are going mainly for loans, as those two or 3 wont invest i believe the same is probably going on about the pitch, if they dont put in the pot i think KLD is doing temps till he gets more shares or them out
Somebody must have 'final' say though? Official word from the club (Davison in the fans group meeting minutes) is that it's KLD. He should be squeezing these 2 ****ers through the wringer.
You would hope so. But I've assumed all along that KLD can't get what he wants right now and will wait for it. Could do with it being sorted mind, time is the enemy here.
First of all,I would say I'm at pretty much at an all time low....and I've been going for 60 years! But,I think we need to be a bit careful here lads and lasses. Progress is rarely an even linnear progression.....it's often 2 or 3 steps forward and 1 back, then a time sideways, before gaining ground again. It isn't that long since most of us were very happy that,at last,we had stopped buying more older, journeymen players looking for a last payday, and had recruited younger, more lively players and mixed them with homegrown lads who'd come through from the Academy. And,earlier in the season, these players were showing lots of promise and playing some good stuff....it was regularly lauded on here that our strategy, driven by KS, was the right one. The January window provided Batth,an experienced centre back,Matete,a combative and mobile central midfielder and JD,an accomplished back up to Stewart, all of which we all knew were areas we needed to strengthen. A misjudgement was obviously made in letting Flanagan go before a deal had been done to recruit his replacement, but,as we've heard,2 bids were in and, when these didn't come off,2 loans were attempted, also unsuccessful. I'm sure KS will have learned from that experience. I don't know him,but if his character is as flawed as has been suggested, why was that not mentioned earlier,or,are we just looking for a scapegoat? Something happened between LJ and the players...that much is obvious...which caused the wheels to come off,I don't know what. Perhaps it will come out in due course.Whatever the truth is about Keane,we've got Alex Neil,he needs to get to grips with the problems, and we need to get behind him. Turning to the ownership, and those who still insist that Donald and Methven are somehow holding back investment,it is perfectly possible that Sartori, who some,I think incorrectly, group in with SD and CM,who has 20% of the shares, has relinquished voting rights on those shares. In which case, the 41% that KLD holds does give him overall control. It is also possible that a price has already been agreed for the purchase of the remaining 39% which will be triggered when promotion is achieved. This would negate any requirement for KLD to hold back any investment on the basis,as many have suggested, that SD and CM are not able to match his financial input. I am sure that KLD will be able to inject funds into the club as and when required, without regard to SD and CM,subject,of course, to the provisions of FFP,and I have absolutely no doubt he has already done so. Finally, can I just say about the pitch. Our business is playing football and we need to play on the best possible surface. If holding concerts on our pitch in any way interferes with the provision of a first class playing surface, then they should be cancelled. I understand the commercial benefits, but, promotion far outweighs any financial consideration we get from one-off jollies.
