Yeah I think it was too. But to give Lloris a new 2 year term deal instead of finding a replacement this summer isn’t the correct thinking imo.
Obsessing over Lloris because some berk at the MEN said some easily debunked gibberish isn't correct thinking
Who would you prefer to sign? Not seeing a lot of great options out there right now. Bringing in someone in the summer to gradually take over during that two year period sounds sensible. Integrating Lloris into the coaching staff after that might be good too, if that's what he wants.
Ive been saying for a while that the club should be looking for his replacement. The only one here obsessed with anything is you.
I don’t know who they will be looking at as a replacement but there must be a keeper that is a good age and decent enough to replace Lloris long term. Next season really should be the last for Lloris at Spurs imo.
I take it that six replies or more to the suggestion that replacing Lloris is clearly not in our five main priorities is where you tick over into "obsessed" territory, but five is perfectly rational No, we do not need to be replacing Hugo Lloris this summer, and certainly not for £30m on a hypothetical GK that some berk at the MEN said when trying to divert attention from the fact that Hugo is clearly playing at a much higher level than David De Gea is
TuttoMercato claim we're looking to sign Lautaro Martinez this summer How the hell are we going to fit Kane, Son, Dybala and Martinez into the same team?
Because you want the last word and I won’t give it to you. As usual you go off rambling about something not related, this time you’re banging on about De Gea and Man Utd. I’m a Spurs fan, I couldn’t care any less about Utd keeping position if I tried. Lloris is getting on and imo he needs to be replaced sooner rather than later.
I mentioned De Gea at least three times, given the berk is the Man Utd correspondent for the MEN yet daren't suggest what any neutrals (and the Spanish national team) already figured out for themselves Also, this highlights the wider issue of just how little respect our players consistently get from pundits, where they're either saying they're not good enough or are too good for us and nothing inbetween - yet there's countless players scattered around Ye Olde Sky Foure who honestly wouldn't get into our team at the moment on any form of merit, and De Gea happens to be one of them
I wonder if Oblak will elect to stay at Atletico next season. They seem to have totally lost their way under Simone, who tbh performed much better when they were the plucky underdog but has struggled since the move to the new stadium and eye watering transfer fees became the norm. Final year of his contract next season. Just turned 29 so for a GK in his prime and easily has 4-5 years in the tank. I'd imagine if he does move it'll be to a bigger club but could be worth a probe.
If Paul Lopez was five years younger and his career followed the exact same trajectory he'd have been a good shout in the same role Gollini's in But no, Mr & Mrs Lopez had to bang in March of 1994, and even if we did make Lopez's loan a permanent he'd either be PO'd at Hugo still being first choice or having another season of "maybe this season he'll get established after his loan last year"...
I also just think he’s inconsistent. Technically phenomenal but I’m not sure he always impacts games as he should. Additionally I don’t know where he plays his best football, which I think has been a struggle for managers since his Palermo days.
You could take the risk if such players similarly agreed a wage structure that honestly accounted for the risk. Until new WHL is up and running again on all revenue generating fronts, the risks IMHO are currently too high.
Where you think you are in such a spiral, you could apply a method used on the mighty Usenet. Which basically goes thus : I have nothing more to add to the discussion. Therefore I give you the last word. Nothing offensive in itself, but for those with a particular psyche, the fact that you have not been crushed into acceptance/submission by their last word, and are explicitly offering it, has a certain WUM effect.
Pure speculation on my part, given Lautaro Martinez has been linked with us again, but anyone else get the feeling we've got some sort of agreement with Inter where we give them a clear run at getting Dybala on a free and they'll listen to our offer for Martinez?
