I do keep a record of sorts. Memory? I forget what it was like to have a good one! I'm ok on things from years ago, but I'm quite likely to forget what someone has just said to me. I'm like the guy who stood on the middle step of a staircase and couldn't remember whether he was going up or down. I know two very funny, but rather long, jokes on the same theme. Don't think they'd work nearly so well spelled out on here, though. It's a pity - every time I've told either one of them it has had an enthusiastic response. (So far as I can remember!)
Well, after my outstanding piece of RCLing – I so rarely predict a Spurs loss, so this was all the more remarkable! – I’m a little hesitant to go back to predicting three points for us. But I do feel pretty confident that we can carry on where we left off on Saturday evening. That was such a cracker of a performance all round! I don’t expect the same thrills for tonight’s game, but this is where Conte will earn his petrol money. I’m calling on the help of the Platters for a classic song from the fifties (oh! those teen years!). And why not?! Burnley, you Will play your part tonight! Burnley, you Must make this world seem right! Burnley, you and you alone Can block out like you do But fill our hearts with hope that we’ll win through! Burnley, you Will help us win, you see: You’ll score too But then we’ll just get three! When you hear our fans, you’ll understand How we made City blue - Dier bangs one through, Then Son and Harry too! Burnley, you and you alone Can play the way you do And fill our hearts with hope that we’ll win through! Burnley, you Will see us scoring three For it's true To win’s our destiny. All our loyal fans just understand The magic that we do - When our dream comes true With help from Burnley – YOU!! Prediction: Burnley 1 Spurs 3 Scorers: Dier, Son, Kane Cheers, Spurf!
I loved this song back in the day & he had such a lovely voice. Such clever words Audrey every time, I don't know how you think them up week after week - a real gift.
