Certainly could have got 5 or 6. Oxford were very good - did some stuff we cant do. But there was some terrible stuff in there. And the number of times our goal kicks put us in trouble round our own box.
That's about it for Johnnie Jackson. No way is he going to be able to trigger any kind of auto-renewal of his contract now. And if TS sells up, a new owner will want his own people in anyway. A sad end for a long association between Jacko and CAFC.
New owner ?? Who the fuke would want to buy this box of frogs - that’s what makes me laugh about the “sandgaard out “ brigade ! I can assure you there isn’t a queue of billionaire charlton fans out there wanting to buy us - we are what we are and be thankful that we at least exist at all , that’s my little rant done
Oxford outclassed us just by doing the basics. The worry beforehand was the attack, but it was the defence that went to pieces. Until Burstow came on we didn't come close to having a goal attempt. Shockin, juss shockin.
I'm under no illusions. It is highly likely our next owner will buy the Club in order to exploit what little value it has left, a process that will probably lead to expulsion and closure. My comment regarding a new owner wanting his own people was made on the unlikely assumption that the next owner will actually attempt to keep the team playing football and fulfilling its fixture obligations. We only exist for as long as our current sympathetic owner is willing to fund us. It is looking increasingly possible however that his business interests are in trouble. This could well lead to him having to bail out soon. I don't want TS to go. I'll always be grateful that he saved us from expulsion and closure about 15 months ago. But if external circumstances means he is gone soon, there is nothing we can do about it. Nothing that is, except prepare to fight the closure of CAFC if that becomes the prospect facing us. And we will fight. Nobody is going to shut Charlton Athletic down without eventually being made to wish they hadn't.
Have to look at the way Jacko set the team up, 3 CB's on the bench, one in the team. If Jacko is following the OGS model and therefore failing TS, and therefore CAFC, are in trouble.
What is this 'new owner' stuff? People saying 'Sandgaard out' as if a queue will form the moment he tires. We are an attractive proposition for the likes of Southall. Those who want a new owner should find one. As for JJ, it's hard to criticise players when I literally couldn't understand what they were trying to do. We need to try ans set up a blanket defense and grind out some points until the strikers drift back. And it wasn't just the defence - the midfield disintegrated and never came back. Burstow looked good as he had a bit of confidence the rest lacked. But Oxford tore us a new one. They were niggly and nasty, passed beautifully, finished leathally, and looked a well trained team. We never did after the first goal. Jj needs to try a new formation. This doesn't work. And the toll of same old same old we had with manager after manager for over s decade. Some of those praising Robbo tonight celebrsted when he left. Some who wanted Adkins out now blame the players. We need patience the manager. And a firector of football with experience. No more amateurs like Roddy.
JJ not going anywhere and TS is here to stay .. they are already discussing transfer targets for next season with SG
Reams and his toy boy lovers think that a Southall , Elliott and the dentist would be better owners really tells you all you need to know about these clowns …..
The wummers are wumming for sure, that's background noise easily ignored. But there does seem to be a little more to it than that. Some reasonable and rational fans on other forums are discussing possible issues around the business interests of TS. There could be some basis for concern. I hope we're worrying unduly. But I sense perhaps all is not well.
Was it ever this bad under Roland? If Duchatelet jnr had been put in charge of player recruitment WW3 would have ensued - for some strange reason, Charlton fans are letting TS off lightly on that one??
I did warn you about the "issues around his business" BEFORE "reasonable fans on other forums" started to discuss it.
What a pal you are. And presumably it's out of the goodness of your heart that you continue to enjoy baiting us about Duchatelet. The bloke divided our Club from everything of value that it owned, then sold it for £1 to a bunch of thieves. How could anybody but a wum suggest that to be 'not as bad' as what is happening to CAFC now? Suggesting that TS is somehow worse that Duchatelet is just indulging your enjoyment of our misery. Well that's fair enough. If the situation was reversed we would be enjoying your misery just as much. But I wouldn't come on to your Club's forum page to rub your noses in it. Or pretend that I'm doing so out of some kind of sympathy.
Your darling Roland sold the club to a bunch of crooks who had us under a transfer embargo. If and when he snuffs it then Roland jnr will inherit the assets. The situation now is different, in that TS owns only the club, which nobody would want to buy as it stands, whereas your darling Roland owned the whole lot, which was a bit of a des-res. Hence Old Yellow Teeth won't talk to anyone who wants to buy the ground.
