Oh and Ingram's assault on Albert had to be a penalty and reckless foul play, so another red card too.

After the Sunderland debacle I put in an FOI to the refs association to ask what happens when officials make gross errors. Was referred to about three different organisations and gave up which I'm certain was their desired outcome!

The Ellerslie lino was appalling yesterday. I'd love to see a side on view for Adomah's goal.

And to rub salt in the Hull scorer was a Brentford loanee!

Mild PTSD this morning!

I’d say that’s a close call. Could have gone either way.
However the Lino does look behind the ideal line of sight for the decision to be 100% certain. It’s all fine lines.

That photo doesn't show the ball being played, so it's impossible to know for certain from that whether Uncs is on or not. If it is the exact split-second, he is onside.

Much closer than I thought at the time, though.

How do we go from winning well and regularly, with great team morale to play like strangers and individually crap, lacking any desire, over the space of the last month?

The team doesn’t seem to be playing for the manager and or as a unit……… or am l missing something?
Think you are missing something.

So dykes needs a scan ( on the foot he injured before the international break, and is not healing correctly)

Johansen had a bad stomach against Boro, and he could hardly walk when he came off. Hasn't played well since...and although on bench yesterday did not warm off at half time.

I think we have big, big problems with those two players at the moment....and could be affecting the who team.

Especially if Willock is injured after yesterday. He took a really bad knock in the last minute and didn't seem to shake it off

Why does this happen to us so often?
Incompetence or something more sinister?

It's got to be incompetence - we're not the only teamnthis happens to, ask fans of any club in this league. What's the answer? VAR? No thanks. It needs proper investment in the refereeing side of the game, and for every game to be watched by a fifth official or panel post match to analyse performnnce of each and every ref in the league, rank them accordingly and hold them to task for their errors.

Makes it even more infuriating that Warbs doesn't seem to really want to use the squad.

Ramkilde your time has come :)

There will be a VAR ‘lite’ system in place in the EFL from 2023/24. Fewer cameras, a bloke in the stand to review, iPad for the ref at the side of the pitch rather than a monitor.

Presumably clubs with no money have to pay for this, which will just slow down games even more. I might have a false memory of leaving the ground with my dad and getting back to his car on the Du Cane Road in time to hear the sports report music and the official results being read at 5.00. Really unusual to get out of the ground much before 5 now, and this will make it even later.

Not entirely sure that I need the lap of honour that the players seem to make after every game, no matter what the result, either.

Did we finish with the line up we should of ****ing started with?
How was Amos?
How was Hendrick?
How was Sanderson?

I dont know if Gray is any more likely to score than Austin, he wasn't given long enough to find out! Amos was under par imo., Hendrick our best player, Sanderson very good.

I meant Willock not being at left wing back mainly.
I'd keep starting with Austin for now.

Time to move on.

We’re a bit screwed up front now, with Dykes knackered and Gray invisible for most of the time. Charlie had chances yesterday, first half header in particular, but he was in a filthy mood throughout, pretty visibly, and got a booking for a bit of petulance. He was even having a go at the ref for some imagined foul when Chair scored. I imagine that he’s very frustrated that he can’t do the stuff he used to. As always you want the chances to fall to him, but he still has to get there…..

From where I sat Chair played essentially as a second striker, and when Moses came on Willock joined him up front. Might be time for us to think of this false nine malarkey if push comes to shove.

If you think that was a bad decision then I think your expectations are way too high. The EPL needs lines drawn across the pitch and super slomo to get them right. Yesterdays official had nothing but his own first view of it and to be honest I dont think that still even proves him wrong. Factor in that your eye would automatically be drawn to the player nearest to you, Adomah, and I can see why the flag went up.

The big shame yesterday was Macallum not being fit to start as we dont want Willock at left wing back. In my opinion Odubajo should have started there, get in front and take him off later if necessary.

My expectations are way higher than much of the officiating we've seen this season.

Our three strikers aren’t the best (let’s be honest), but I guess that’s what our budget allows for.
Dykes comes across as a lazy grafter. Not good news on the injury. His tally isn’t great. Question is can he improve?
Austin is our likeable boy done good for us, he does have good instincts … but he’s not the player he was at all. Shame as we all want him back to how he was (but he’s no Benji Button).
Gray?! We must be able to do better than him. One great goal, otherwise … waste of money quite honestly (if you play these gambles they won’t all come off, but two elder strikers is probably one too many). A punt on another striker would be way better than this. Have to wonder how Bonne is getting on, I get the impression he’s struggling a bit.

The good news is to hear that the spirit is still there in the team Sb :emoticon-0148-yes:
