It’s because of covid. Had this discussion couple weeks back when a United game was on at same time as a CL game. Uefa relaxed the rules this year cos of covid and postponements so games could be scheduled.
From the original match day thread this was on BT sport's and looking back they had all the boxing day games and then Amazon the weekend games after. So again why isn't this on?
If I remember correctly they were also supposed to show Man utd vs Brighton but as it clashed with the CL it ended up not being on TV.
At the end of the season we may or may not have to look at some games where we dropped points or lost 28/8/21 Liverpool 1: 1 Chelsea .We are unable to win against 10 men Chelsea. 2 points dropped. 25/09/21 Brentford 3:3 Liverpool. We lost the plot .2 points drooped . 03/10/21 Liverpool 2:2 Manchester City. Not too bad result 2 points dropped. 30/10/21 Liverpool 2:2 Brighton Brighton came back from 2 goals down. 2 points lost 07/11/21 West Ham 3: 2 Liverpool. Though Westham one goal should have been ruled .We lost the game. 28/12/21 Leicester 1:0 Liverpool Salah missed a penalty. We lost this game. 19/12/21 Tottenham 2:2 Liverpool 2 points dropped. We should have won the game. 02/01/22 Chelsea 2 : 2 Liverpool . 2 points dropped. We stopped playing in the second half. #Hope we will win all our remaining games.
This represents the "dicking with it" type football we seem to think we can engage with. 2 yard passes from each other until they are totally closed down then hit it back to alisson. Of the above, Brentford, City, Brighton, Spurs and chelsea all represent games we lead in (and sometimes by 2 goal margin) and ended up dropping points. Chelsea draw at home was annoying given they had only 10 for second half but we were never ever scoring. The losses to West sham and leicester were deserved. 5 of our 6 draws should have been wins! think about that. we could be on 67 points with city on 62 and just need to win our game in hand to grind them to paste in the league. Its a genuine lack of playing the ball well and safely and keeping the ball properly moving. If you watched at the weekend at 2-1 up we started this dicking about playing 2 yard passes not having any intent to go forward and then the forwards to making runs and they start coming out. As noriwch are very poor outfit they couldn't hurt us but its very consistent issue for us.
for balance: Since Liverpool lost to Real Madrid 10 months ago we have lost just 2 games (out of 39) total. in those two only west ham was pretty deserved. We battered Leicester, they scored with their only shot on goal and we'd have hammered them if we scored the early pen. In that same time Chelsea have lost 8 Man City have lost 10 (1 on pens) Arsenal have lost 11 Man United have lost 13 (2 on pens) Spurs have lost 18 Just think about that. May city might win a LOT of games and go on long runs but in reality we are absolute ****ing beasts.
Our problem has been the draws. 6 draws against city’s 3. Turn one of those 6 into a win and suddenly we’re 1 point behind them.
It is amazing to think of some of the stats and actually how good we are. I think we sometimes forget when we struggle to a 1-0 win over Burnley and everyone moans but then you look at that stats Mito mentions. 2 defeats in 25 in the league. 2 defeats in 39 in total. 7/7 in the CL this season. Into LC final. 1/1 in Fa cup. Was only 4/5 years ago when we were losing 8/9 games a season, fighting for 4th and just to get into the CL was an achievement. Now it’s title challenges, fighting for the biggest trophies, playing exciting football with arguably 3 of the best players in their positions in our team in Alison vvd and Salah.
just the draw v city. give us 2 more points and take 1 away form them. that draw was ****E as we took the lead there and dicked about. we left kdb free when someone should have sat on him and kicked lumps out of him for respect.
I completely agree. And it's not just the results that are staggering - the underlying stats are brilliant as well. Goals scored and conceded, xG and xC ... Liverpool and City are miles ahead of the rest.
At times we are complacent especially at the back. Losing Fabinho at some stage has not helped. We need to finish opposition off especially when we are 1 or 2 up. Jurgen Klopp already told the team to forget the cup final on Sunday and concentrate on Leeds United.
Stop whining about it not being on tv if you can post on this forum you can watch the game .Plenty of people including myself have posted links to sites where the games can be watched.Get's on my tits when people ask for a stream,all you have to do is get off yer arse and either search for them or make a note of the sites that have been posted before. Rant over.
