You’re opinion but I disagree . They had 3 chances second half and scored 2. All set up the same way ball over the top turned the centre half’s who were pushing high to compress midfield and got caught out. That needs sorting but apart from that they created nothing
Now if you go back to when LJ was appointed, I'd of almost certainly preferred AN . We're in the shìt now and I won't blame everything on LJ. So now we have a change of management, maybe recruitment needs looking at.
Whickham missed a sitter or could of squared it to make it 3 for them. We offered absolutely nothing up front except for scoring one chance.
We’ve signed some good players this season but not necessarily enough league one type players who will get stuck in and not be intimidated. That’s the biggest issue imo. At least we now have a battling central midfielder but a pacey centre half has been needed all season and we’re still lacking up front.
I disliked LJ but that today was as bad or worse. The 4-3-3 is awful and at times I literally need fell asleep.
Another good interview. He's telling the players to play one way but they're clearly not, whether that's through habit from how LJ wanted them to play or because they're **** scared to pass it forward and lose it, I don't know. But it's good that AN is picking up on the crab football and wants it fixing!
The clown in charge of recruitment needs run out of the club sharpish. Can’t be trusted with another window this Speakman. He really is out of his depth and not fit for purpose as a d.o.f.
The imbalances in the squad haven't been addressed. It looks to me like a squad that should be lining up in a 433 but we don't have a reliable No. 4. That should have been a priority in the transfer window. That's down to Speakman but I'm not going to write him off completely as most of what he's brought in has been good. Clearly dips in form and confidence have been an issue and I'd argue that this has less to do with Streaky Johnson (which just became a convenient stick to beat him with) and more to do with the character of the squad. Neither should we be questioning the 'model' (I know that's a term that some people don't like)- that needs time to develop and KLD, I believe, is aware of that. Things don't look great at the moment, we might not go up this season, but I remain convinced that the way things are being down now is going to pay off in the long term.
We look to be on our last legs. Too many tired kids and cripples. It might be counterintuitive, but a literal week on the beach might stop the metaphorical one.
True need to work on supporting Stewart and our centre half’s are like cart horses but the managers only had a week
I'm not going to blame Speakman or anyone personally. I'm not a fan of "the model". I think Alex Neil should have the final say if a player signs or not .
Indeed… but he’s playing alongside Evans who, when the going gets tough, disappears!!! How people said they’d rather have him than onien is beyond me. He’s garbage
In days gone bye a team of scouts used watch players and assess them. Then the manager would have a look at them and decide whether the player would fit in the team. Now apparently players are selected from spreadsheets. Does the manager (sorry - chief coach) even see them play in the flesh? I agree with you, mate. Because a player may appear to tick the boxes doesn’t necessarily mean he will fit in.
